Superb walking is available direct from the door including to Eldon Hole, named ‘one of the seven wonders of the Peak District’, and you are wonderfully placed for exploring the surrounding Peak District towns and villages. Within easy reach is the pretty village of Edale, 20 minutes, home to the start/end of the Pennine Way. The beautiful honeypot village of Castleton is around a 15-minute drive, as is the fascinating ‘plague’ village of Eyam and the spa town of Buxton. The large, ancient village of Tideswell is around 10 minutes away, and the impressive Chatsworth House Estate, Haddon Hall and the National Trust’s Lyme Park can all be reached in around half an hour. Traffic free cycling is available on the nearby Tissington and Monsal trails, and for those thrill seekers, Alton Towers is approximately an hour away. Shop 4¼ miles and pub serving food 100 yards.
