For me, if the cottage had a log burner, or a focal point fire, of some sort, it would've been perfect. Our stay there was lovely though. The cottage had everything, you would need, in it; along with a welcoming bottle of wine. A lovely touch, from the owners. Mere, is a lovely little village, with really friendly people, and some lovely walks too! We choose Mere, for being within easy reach of Dorset, Somerset and Bath and we weren't disappointed. It was our 1st time, of renting a cottage, and we'll definitely do it again.

Field Cottage is in a delightful location within easy walking distance of the town and its amenities. The publicity photo does not do it justice and its private garden was a very pleasant place to sit. The interior is clean, functional, well equipped and it kept remarkably cool during the hot weather. There are plenty of interesting places to visit nearby; Lacock, Stourhead, Haynes Motor Museum, Shaftsbury, Sherbourne etc.

Cosy cottage in lovely quiet setting, with shops and pubs within easy walking distance. Thoughtful owners made us welcome, including wine for the adults, treats and old towels for the dog. Lots of places to walk and explore from the door; Stourhead house and gardens nearby.

My daughter and I plus cat had a very enjoyable stay, despite some rather wet weather. Great location in a peaceful setting with Castle Hill close by providing a great walking spot with marvellous views. I enjoyed a good walk there accompanied by Sasha, the owner's dog. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious.
