Very enjoyable stay, brought back many happy memories (used to live in Ferrybridge cottages 30 yrs ago) Suggestions 1. Blackout curtains in the bedroom 2. Small table or shelf in the bathroom for toilet bags and smelly’s 3. Please have a look at the bed or provide Allen key ( it creek a lot 😱😀) Would stay again and have already recommended it as a place to stay

Could be a really nice cottage, but as it stand, it's poor, No welcome pack on arrive, would have been a nice gesture. All cleaning products are looked away, so unable to clean kitchen work tops or bathroom. Kitchen could benefit from having a proper recycling bin, as lots of instructions as to what goes in what bin, we use carrier bags during our stay, could also do with a larger kettle, the small one is fine if just 2 people staying. Carpets really need a good clean, bedroom room covered in mold and smells damp, if you suffer with a chest complaint, this is not the place for you.. It does state its on a main road, this is an extremely busy main road, constant noise day and night. There are 2 steep steps into the court yard, also on deep step at back door, 3 steep steps at the front door, if you are elderly or disabled you would struggle to get into the property, Gave up trying to work out the WIFI. In the guest book there are lots of suggestion to help make this cottage great, but Marilyn the house keeper seems to take most of them as a personal attack with some unprofessional replies. We stay in a lot of cottages and this was far the worse one ever, will never book again

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We had our inspection only 2 weeks before this stay and have already agreed to replace the carpets this winter. Otherwise, the inspection was satisfactory for a 2 star property. We do not supply a welcome pack of chocolate or alcohol etc. as some people prefer not to have these due to health reasons. Milk, coffee and tea are always left available. There has not been any damp or mould recently in the back bedroom and it does not smell damp currently. Bottles of cleaner etc. are locked in a cupboard to prevent accidental poisoning to young children. The property is not advertised as being suitable for disabled, the steps are mentioned in the description and we do discuss these when asked about access. The WIFI was checked last week and is working fine for low access use.

We stayed for two nights. Beds very comfortable and bedding and towels good quality. Kitchen well equipped. Loved the location and beautiful views. Bathroom requires updating - it smelt damp and on the morning we left there was a slug on the wall! We couldn’t get heating to work. There is no WiFi just an internet dongle -not the same! Also couldn’t get free view channels on TV. Carpet in lounge needs cleaning. Not the same standard as properties we have stayed at for a similar price. Wouldn’t stay again.

We enjoyed our stay and was happy with the cottage. The only thing about sleeping is that we were two single people, friends and so one of us had to stay in a single bed which although a comfy bed not enough room for an adult to sleep in. As for local amenities we didn't use them so I can't comment. All in all we loved it.

We would ask the owners for safety reasons they supply a rubber bath mat, I’m disabled and was a little worried about getting in and of of the bath, ( shower over bath ) the shower ran hot and cold, so possibly needs new or repairing, I wrote in their book about two years ago and it’s in other people’s comments so thought the owners might take note. It’s a nice house with beautiful views could possibly do with up dating. I would stay again if the small problems were put right

We have just spent a couple of days at Ferrybridge view. I get the impression it's a bit like marmite you either love it or hate it. We really enjoyed our stay here and the owners have taken on board all the negative feedback recieved and have acted upon it. The heating is great plus loads of extra heaters and blankets if required. A new heater installed in the bathroom which was a bit chilly even on a warm day. Yes it is a bit dated however it has a two star rating which reflects this, having two kids however I felt more relaxed as a consequence. Plenty of towels, soap, toilet paper, tea towels, washing up liquid and new washing up utensils provided. Very clear instructions on the running of the place. Low usage wifi is provided. There is allocated signed parking behind the property. We will book again.
