A stunning position with excellent views of the nearby fells, an ideal base for walkers.

Set in a stunning rural position within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Fell Cottage is a traditional limestone conversion of a former farm building restored to provide a wonderful quaint holiday retreat. The cottage is situated in beautiful Raydale, a rural and unspoilt area of Wensleydale. It is surrounded by traditional farming country and ringed by high fells.
In the distance the dramatic peak of Addleborough can be seen and Lake Semerwater is a pleasant walk away. It is handy for many of the areas famous attractions, including the bustling little market town of Hawes and the pretty villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg, with its pub which was used as the local in the James Herriot series ’All Creatures Great and Small’.
Raydale is a haven for wildlife, with hares and deer often sighted in the surrounding fields at dawn and dusk, along with a wide variety of upland bird life including pheasant, partridge, curlew, duck and of course, Lake Semerwater stocked with a variety of fish. The hamlet of Marsett is set high in the hills above Bainbridge, providing far reaching panoramic views of the dales and fells beyond. Marsett itself has true rustic country charm as cattle and sheep can roam freely on the village green. Horse riding and fishing nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.

Amazing location, really comfortable small cottage, be aware not fully dog friendly as they are not able to be in bedrooms, but an amazing quiet and relaxed location to explore the Dales from.

We had a wonderful time, we did no that it was quite away from amenities, we took that in our stride, the peacefullness was great and more than made up for the lack of other things. we have got to say how impressed we were in the little chapel, how wonderful to see it still operating today with so many churchs closeing. A great time would use it again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Pleased you enjoyed your holiday - particularly the little chapel - it is amazing how many people support this little place and the locals make everyone very welcome.

We had an absolute wonderful stay at Fell Cottage, we were made to fell very welcome by Alison & Guy from the moment that we arrived. The Cottage was very well equipped with everything that we could possibly want. The showers in the Cottage were a real pleasure to use which was a real treat. The fact that each bedroom had its own on-suite was great because this meant that if someone wanted to have a lay in you still had the use of both a toilet and a shower via the other bedroom. To wake up every morning and sit out in the garden drinking your coffee to such amazing views was just breathtaking. If you seek to experience pure country life style surrounded by beautiful views and in the heart of country farming then this is certainly the place that I would recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Fell Cottage. Alyson and Guy were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was just fine for us two and our little dog, with an enclosed garden which was a must for us. The location is remote but that was all part of the charm. We were lucky to have amazing weather and the scenery around is breathtaking. We would certainly stay again.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review - pleased you enjoyed yourselves.
