Stayed with my family for a Christmas get together and Faws House was perfect! They have gone to a lot of extent to make you feel at home from the moment you walk in! When you first get there you think you are in the middle of nowhere but in fact the location is perfect with only a small drive away from Alnwick and the seaside not far after that. Thrunton Woods being right on the door step was perfect for our little pooch we only did a small walk (due to the December chills) but looks like a very well maintained wood! The house was massive and enough space for 7 of us. The back garden was plenty again our pooch liked it. Maybe could benefit from a hot tub to watch the stars in at night? The log burners made the December much more bareable! Thank you also for the chocolates it was a lovely touch! Will defiantly be coming back!

This is the best house we have stayed at as a group. The owners are lovely from start to finish, providing additional extras such as the coffee pods, chocolate and flowers these were a beautiful touch. Everything has been though about and the house is clean and tidy. We had a wonderful time and are already looking to book again. Thrunton wood is on your doorstep for lovely walks then returning to a roaring fire and playing some of the family games provided is just wonderful. The cottage is a 15/20 min drive to Alnwick, which we loved exploring. We can’t wait to come back, thank you so much! The pictures don’t do the house justice.

Had a lovely week to celebrate a 50th birthday. The Cottage is well equipped and clean spacious and a touch of luxury inside, lovely bedrooms and on suite shower. Towels and Bed Linen excellent. Owners left chocolates and a small plant as a welcome this was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped as were all rooms. Some areas for improvement there needs to be a more toilet rolls we ran out and there were 2 of us.. this was also mentioned in a previous review, the largeTV in one room had no signal therefore couldn't use. There were no batteries in the small TV remote in kitchen. The radio wasn't good either. However we didn't visit to watch TV. The price range was top of my budget. The garden was nice too. There are local shops and a garage 4 miles from location. Beaches around 15 miles.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We welcome your comments and our response as follows:- With reference to toilet rolls, the house has 3 toilets; each has a fresh full roll on handover to ensure nobody gets caught short. As this is a self-catering cottage, guests are expected to provide their own supplies. The previous review was not a complaint more of a thank you, the guests called me one night and I told them where to find extra toilet rolls as they had ran out. The Radio we provide may struggle with a signal due to the location of the house, it has a CD player built in so it is useful for some guests, and we also provide a docking station so guests can play music through their phones. We had discovered one of the TVs wasn't working this has been replaced, had we known of the remote and TV problem they would have been addressed immediately.

An excellent second stay. Only one niggle in that the shower lacks a non-slip mat. For older visitors this is an important consideration and should be borne in mind by the owners from a health and safety point of view. I did mention this after our previous visit.

Gorgeous holiday house in a beautiful peaceful setting. It was spotless and had everything we could have asked for. The garden was fantastic too - lots of space for two energetic boys to run around. Would definitely recommend, and I’m sure we’ll be back!
