Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Set within the Gloucestershire countryside, yet just a short drive from Cheltenham, Cloucester, Cirencester and Bath.

Farview Cottage is a characterful, 300-year-old, end-terrace holiday cottage, nestled within the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside and with far reaching views across the Stroud valleys. The cottage is situated in the very heart of the south Cotswold village of Selsley, which boasts very popular local pubs. Wonderful walks are on your doorstep, including the Cotswold Way and National Trust common land. Close by is the bohemian town of Stroud, with its award-winning farmers’ market selling a great variety of local produce.

Many towns and villages are within a 25-mile radius, including the Roman town of Cirencester, historic Bath and royal Tetbury. Famous for horse racing and festivals, Cheltenham and Gloucester, with its magnificent cathedral, are also worth a visit. The area is abundant with National Trust properties and other attractions, such as Berkeley Castle and Slimbridge Wetland Centre. The stunning, honey-coloured north Cotswold villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden are just an hour’s drive. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Lovely cottage with all the facilities we needed. Great location and area, slightly awkward finding the front to unload quickly and then park behind the cottage in the road running behind. Once we sorted it there were no problems. When the back garden is tidied for use it will be even better with more outdoor space catching the sun.

Beautiful cottage. Spotlessly clean. Fabulous location and owner was really helpful. Would definitely stay again and we highly recommend.

Some previous reviewers appear to have experienced significant noise, either from next door (attached), or from road noise, ambulances etc. We had no such problems during our stay and would happily stay there again. The house is attached on one side, so inevitably there is some noise from next door, but the walls are very thick and it was a low level from the TV, so no problems. The cottage is set into the valley side, looking down on Stroud, so some road noise, but again at a low level and much quieter than we experience at home. Really nothing to worry about. The cottage has recently been refitted and decorated and is absolutely lovely. The owners appear to have thought of everything and it is a real home away from home. It is very close (5 mins) to a large Sainsburys and Stroud itself is great, particularly the Saturday Farmers Market. Pub is 5 minutes walk away. Cotswold Way is on the doorstep and the surrounding countryside is wonderful. Lots of other places e.g. Cheltenham and Gloucester are all a short drive away and the Cotswold villages nearby are sublime. We definitely hope to return.

2 of us had a weeks stay at farview cottage early July 2018. We have had some fabulous holidays in this country but this one topped them all. The weather helped as it was so hot all week but the cottage itself was absolutely perfect. It was clean, quiet, and very well equipped. Lovely traditional cottage with a modern feel inside. Bedroom and bathroom beautifully light and airy and very spacious. Bed was extremely comfortable. Loads of storage too and plenty of wardrobe space. Jackie has thought of everything. The location is quiet countryside with amenities a stones throw away. We much enjoyed the local pub and the views over Stroud. If you visit in summer I can recommend sitting on the bench at the end of the lane to watch the sunset. We visited so many places. Too Many to mention. It's an ideal base for exploring the cotswolds and Gloucestershire. Thanks for a fabulous holiday. There was only one downside and that was having to leave. We would 100% recommend and will definitely return.

Beautifully appointed cozy cottage. Well situated for local amenities and attractions. Well equipped. Where to park needs to be explained more fully.

Lovely well equipped cottage where the owner has thought of their guests needs. The milk and cakes were a nice gesture. I don't really want to criticise the cottage as it was so nice but unfortunately the next door neighbour likes to have their music and TV so loud that it drowned out the TV we were watching. We could not have the windows open at night as there is a hum of traffic noise in the distance. Good location with access to the shops etc.

The cottage was beautiful and very well equipped, our only moan was it was very near an ambulance station and very noisy at night time, but not even that spoilt our stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Far View. It was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and had everything we needed for a brilliant stay. Well placed to travel around the Cotswolds and out to the Severn estuary, even over into the Forest of Dean. Really helpful to be so close to supermarkets and usually on our trips we eat out a lot, but the cottage was so well equipped we cooked in and enjoyed time together.

Lovely cottage full of character. Good parking for an old cottage and very conveniently located for Stroud.

When we arrived it was delightful - there was wood ready for the wood burning stove, milk and pastries in the fridge and washing up liquid, paper towels etc in the kitchen. The cottage is in a small, narrow, very quiet country lane hardly used by cars and felt very peaceful. There are lovely views over fields from the first floor. A short walk away is a friendly pub serving good food and delicious Sunday lunch. Inside the house is full of character. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and very romantic. There is a big bathroom off the bedroom, everything we needed in the kitchen, a very comfortable living/dining room and a delightful little courtyard with table and chairs. The owner was very helpful - posting back two necklaces I left behind.
