In the fields and woods around Fairview Cottage you can see an abundance of wildlife - owls, buzzards, sparrowhawks, pheasants, woodpeckers, nuthatches and other garden birds; foxes, muntjac and roe deer. There is even a boar in the woods not far away!
Fairview Cottage is on the edge of a field along with other chalets, having its own private outdoor space with a large south-facing decking area. This detached cottage is set on a working sheep farm where the sheep and utterly delightful lambs are free to roam. It is all on one level and has a cosy, open plan living/dining room with a multi-fuel burner, which you can relax in front of after a day out walking or cycling. It also has a double bedroom and two single bedrooms, as well as a good-sized decking area with space for al fresco dining, or where you can enjoy a glass of wine under the stars.
Hill Farm, located 1½ miles from Bewdley in Worcestershire, was established before World War II, and was a place where many people from Birmingham came to holiday away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Today, many chalets are residential homes, and Fairview Cottage gives you the opportunity to live like a local in this wonderful environment. It makes a great place to escape to with all the family, and has wonderful views and wildlife.
The Severn Way runs alongside the River Severn. Head down the hill from Fairview Cottage to pick up the riverside walk to Bewdley, a 1¾-mile walk. Across the river is the Wyre Forest where you can enjoy many walking and cycling paths, the treetops adventure at ‘Go Ape’, see more wildlife and have fun in the play areas. The Severn Valley Railway runs parallel to Hill Farm connecting Bridgnorth to Kidderminster - and you can even hail the steam train at the local Northwood Halt station only 500 yards away. Set within the county of Worcestershire, the Georgian town of Bewdley is within walking distance (or a short drive) and boasts over fourteen pubs, a variety of eating places, a museum and a good selection of shops. West Midlands Safari Park is just on the outskirts of Bewdley and makes a great day out for all the family. The towns of Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Bridgnorth are all ideal places to visit and shop and are within 15 miles from Bewdley. Wolverley Arboretum and Kinver Edge are both well visited beauty spots, so you are never far away from grand scenery and wide open spaces. There is a train station in Kidderminster which provides a service to Birmingham, London and Worcester and beyond. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
