Perfectly placed for enjoying the delights of the beautiful city of Durham, with its cathedral, castle and riverside walks.

Erin’s Cottage is a romantic, picture postcard cottage dating back to the 18th-century, retaining much charm with beams and pretty features. The lovely little hamlet of Sunderland Bridge lies a mere 3 miles from Durham city, offering the best of both worlds, with easy access to the city, yet set in a peaceful location. Only half a mile to the nearby pub and facilities in Croxdale and surrounding villages, and an easy taxi ride into the university city of Durham which is famed for food and drink, festivals and music. Spend the day exploring the cobbled streets, cathedral, castle and abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as the appealing riverside. The location of this charming cottage makes travel to all areas of Northumberland and Durham easily accessible, whether by train or car. There is so much to see in this lovely county, take the time to visit Raby Castle, the Bowes Museum, Beamish Outdoor Museum, the pretty market town of Barnard Castle, and not forgetting the spectacular High Force Waterfall. This is the perfect location for exploring Northumberland, with the stunning Heritage Coastline, National Park, Hadrian’s Wall, the Durham Dales or the Yorkshire dales. Trains to Edinburgh or York for day trips can be made from Durham station, why not leave the car behind and take a taxi in, leaving you more time to enjoy the delights of these glorious cities. Many public footpaths are nearby and there is a lovely walk down the valley along the Carriage Drive to Croxdale Hall which is a real delight. Beach 18 miles. Shop , pub and restaurant ½ mile.
