Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful setting. Very cold on arrival but the heaters had it warmed up in no time. Very well equipped and had everything you needed for a pleasant stay. Bed a little uncomfy for us oldies but didn't spoil our stay.

As stated to the owners in visitor book the dehumidifier didnt work which was highlighted before we arrived & not fixed, therefore damp & musty. My 2 yr old had to sleep with us as bunk bed room was very cold as other people had commented. The communal pool was not heated as stated on website & jacuzzi didnt work. We left a day early due to musty smell in bedroom due to damp. Poor cleaning to bathroom as dried faeces under neath toilet seat, mould & mildew on shower and windows & nail brush left well used by what or who we will never know! Stated on website pet friendly yet arriving in cabin notice said pets couldnt be left unattended limitting our hiday experience. Very disappointed for the money we paid. Wouldnt recommend and wouldnt stay again. Also disgruntled despite highlighting this noone has contacted us before writing this review. I wouldnt reccomend this for families with pets or children under 5 years.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are very sorry your holiday was not satisfactory. As covered in previous comments, when the weather gets cold, due to moisture from wet clothes or dogs, together with limited insulation in wooden lodges, they can be prone to condensation. We knew there was an issue with the dehumidifier and this was replaced as soon as was practical for us. We have also installed a new heater in the main bedroom together with a ‘trickle vent’. If a permanent heater were fitted in the bunk room, it would heat up very quickly, and this would be dangerous for children. This is why we have provided a portable fan heater for temporary use. We have not received any other reports or notification from site management about the pool, but we will investigate. We would encourage guests to read the booking conditions, for it does state that pets should not be left unattended. Generally, the cleaning company does a good job, but if your comments are accurate, then this needs looking into. We are aware of a small brown stain next to the toilet, but this was from a long time ago, where a small leak from a water pipe resulted in some rust. Perhaps this was what you noticed? Thanks for bringing various issues to our attention. Given what we have reported above, hopefully you appreciate that we always strive to make any necessary improvements to ensure our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable break.

A wonderful location and although a very busy area of the Lake District a very quiet and well organised site. We don't expect 5*+ accommodation as we are on a tight budget, but the lodge was warm and comfortable for our needs and everything in it worked properly (including good Freeview reception for the Lakes) and a nice small pool right next door for site residents use. Arrangements were simple to follow and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely stay. Felt private, wasn't over looked even though cabins all around us. Great location. Great bird watching from the living room. Also Sat on the bench in the garden and they feed from the feeder litterally next to me. Loved the talbot pub, food was very good. So much to do around the area. Riverside walk was lovely just down the road. Will definately visit again. Only thing I would say was maybe update furnishes or something to bring it abit more upto date looking. Feels abit dated. Not saying it's really bad or anything. But would look better. Also lovely wooden table hidden under the brown rubber mat. Too nice to cover it over really. Would look better without. Thanks for a great holiday

Was a lovely holiday with great walks straight from the door, so parked the car up & walked. We have stayed at Neom Craggs before so knew all the good walks. Our dog loved all the walk & the pub The Talbot round the corner even did Doggy meals. Elterwater Cabin itself was well equipped & comfortable there was plenty of wild life straight from the door. We will be returning
