The house was lovely and warm in February and ideally located for exploring York. It's situated on a quiet street with parking just a few minutes walk from the medieval city centre. The house has lots of period features, and the owner who lives next door was very friendly and helpful.

The cottage was very warm and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There were also loads of DVDs, games and books for us to use. We also found the owner very helpful. We phoned him up late one evening because one of the alarms kept bleeping and he came round and sorted it out for us. We will certainly stay there again when we are next visit York

In a ideal location. The accommodation was in need of refurbishment and a deep clean.

Response on behalf of the owner- As I said when you arrived if there was anything you are not happy with just let me know as we live next door and I would have come round and discussed any problems you had. The house has just had all new window fitted.

The jacuzzi wasnt working and the mattress in the double room is too hard.

    Response from:

I'm sorry to here that you found the mattress was not to your liking but a mattress is of a personal choice. No body has complained before in fact guests usually say how comfortable it is. The Jacuzzi was switched off in the twin room next to the bathroom as you can’t have electric switches in a bathroom. As I tell all our guests when they arrived if there is anything you are not happy with just let me know as we live next door and I would have come round and check that the Jacuzzi was switched on as guests have a habit of unplugging and switching things off.

A lovely Victorian town house, beautifully presented with age authentic decor, ornaments and artefacts. Very well located for all amenities and visitor attractions in York city. The York Chocolate Story and the National Rail Museum were two highlights within easy walking distance. The Yorkshire Air Museum was very well worth the half-hour or so bus trip out.

The initial impression of the house was excellent and welcoming. My totally blind husband found it very easy to navigate around this house and felt completely at ease. It was very local to the City Centre where there were lots to see and do. Mr Pearce was very welcoming and did not mind our son meeting his cats and dog. He was also extremely helpful.
