Cottage was immaculately clean and the owners friendly and helpful. If we had just been that little bit closer to one of the big, sandy beaches in the area it would have been perfect.

The Old Shippen is a fantastic cottage. Impeccably clean and well maintained, with views out over the countryside. The garden is a real suntrap as well, the BBQ and seating area is well situated. The location is a little remote, but for us that was perfect. To be out in the countryside, with zero noise or light pollution and the ability to clearly see the stars is amazing. Driving across the moors with picturesque views everyday, was a real bonus. A car is a must for this location, with easy access to Bideford, Clovelly, Kilkhampton and Bude to name a few. The owners are incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Whether it be the complimentary welcome pack (Locally produced Eggs, Bread, Butter and Milk etc) to advice regarding local amenities, they are always available to help; whilst giving you space to enjoy your own holiday. This was our second visit to The Old Shippen, I have no doubt we will be back in the coming years.

Lovely private, quiet and very well equipped cottage in an idyllic location of farm lanes and glimpses of coastline. Lovely log burning fire, lounge and easy modern kitchen with everything you could possibly need for a stay with a family. Welcome basket with fresh crusty loaf and local free range eggs was a nice touch too. Pete and Clare could not be more helpful and have decorated and furnished the cottage beautifully. We will be going again!

Our stay at the Old Shippen was perfect. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and the welcome pack was most appreciated. The accommodation is immaculately presented and very clean. The location is just what we wanted, quiet and peaceful but close enough to local amenities.
