Description

Old shepherds cottage rurally situated by a trout stream with lovely views over open fields. Both coast and country attractions within easy reach.

This charming old shepherd’s cottage, its gardens sloping down to a trout stream, has an idyllic rural setting with lovely views over open fields and is only 15 minutes’ drive from the coast. One of a pair, the holiday cottage offers a very comfortable base for exploring Northumberland’s superb Border country. Seahouses offers wonderful boat trips to the Farne Islands, that wildlife paradise. There are castles of many periods within the Northumberland National Park. Magnificent Bamburgh (7 miles), Holy Island an easy drive. Shops 4 miles.

Two steps to sitting/dining room with inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove. Two steps to kitchen. Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bunk bedroom. Two steps down to bathroom with shower cubicle and toilet.

Wood-burning stove – fuel included. Electricity, full NSH and bed linen included. TV. DVD. Stereo/CD. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Secure garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (for 2 cars). No smoking. NB: Gardens slope down to trout stream.

Nice cottage exterior with lovely garden for sitting in the sun. Cottage was comfortable enough and clean, but dated décor and furniture (needs freshening up). A bit picky but paying premium peak holiday rates so expect a bit more. Great pub nearby in Ellingham with excellent local food and friendly welcome. Good location to visit all main attractions in the area.

East Priestdean Cottage is perfect. The garden with the sound of the stream is relaxing and the cottage itself is clean and cosy with everything you need - like a home-from-home!

Very comfortable, well equipped and spacious stone cottage all on ground floor level in a lovely rural location but not far to A1 to get elsewhere quickly and not very far (15 minute drive) from shops/amenities in Seahouses. Our second visit.

We had a very happy week with two young children. they explored the lovely garden and we read our books in the evening to the sound of the tinkling stream. The house was squeaky clean, warm and comfortable. The Northunberland beaches have miles of superb sand, and one highlight was our trip to the Farne Isles.
