Tucked away at the end of its own short, rough track, Eagle Cottage is a traditional detached white-washed stone cottage set on a working croft, in a stunning location with sea and mountain views. Looking out across Culkein Bay with Handa Island and the dramatic peaks of north west Sutherland clearly visible, Eagle Cottage provides cosy, warm accommodation with décor based around a seaside theme. On the ground floor there is a living room with an electric wood burner. The kitchen/dining room is well-equipped and has plenty of room for up to four guests. Steep and narrow cottage stairs lead up to the two bedrooms, both with a nautical theme. The shower room is on the ground floor. The cottage is set in around 2 acres of grounds, all fully fenced. There are fantastic views from the cottage and grounds across the bay to the islands and hills beyond. Culkein Bay is just a short stroll from the cottage and there are miles of beautiful walks within easy reach. This region is renowned for its hill walking, climbing, kayaking, fishing and mountain biking. The peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt are all close by. The superb white sandy beaches of Achmelvich, Clashnessie and Clachtoll are all within a short drive. The nearest larger village is Lochinver, a thriving small fishing port with natural harbour. It has excellent facilities including a pottery, shops, pubs and restaurants. Beach ½ mile. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 10 miles.
