Large and imposing the formal exterior gives way to the light, airy and comfortable house that lies within. Enter and you are greeted by a wide and welcoming hallway and a handsome staircase. To the right lies a spacious snug complete with log burner. To the left a formal dining room, ideal for celebrations. The wide original stairway leads down to an enormous kitchen/dining area with a separate utility area and modern shower room, this practical space is designed to make your holiday stress free. The handcrafted kitchen is well equipped and a convivial space adjoining the dining area, making it easy for the cook or cooks to mingle with the rest of the party. Off the kitchen is the light-filled dining area with a mezzanine sitting room above. The generous farmhouse table can easily seat eight. The garden beyond the bifold doors will certainly be a firm favourite with children and adults alike, there are estuary views from here. An outdoor south-facing dining space and patio complete the family-friendly space. On the first floor are two generous double bedrooms, a twin room, a charming fourth bedroom with bunk beds as well as an enormous bathroom. All the bedrooms are sensitively decorated and furnished to enhance the historic feel of this proud house. Surprise touches such as original modern artworks bring the house gently into the 21st Century. The views to the rear are all dominated by the stunning shoreline of Llanseffan Beach and its cluster of village houses.
A five-minute amble and you arrive at Llansteffan beach. A wonderful unspoiled sandy shore on the estuary, ideal for sandcastles and birdwatching. Llansteffan is a quiet spot ideal for a relaxing break. The local gastropub is literally a two minute walk away, serving great food. It has a beer garden to enjoy too, as well as live music on Sunday afternoons. Across the road is The Old Post Office Village Store and Deli for great coffee and homemade ready meals for you to enjoy. You can order the ingredients for a full Welsh Sunday lunch to cook at home- and they deliver. The deli hosts great themed evenings. Jostle amongst the locals and see if your Welsh comes up to scratch. Just a stroll away the castle cannot fail to impress. It stands on a pretty wooded headland looking out over the Tywi Estuary. Fantastic for bringing history to life for children. The substantial ruins of Llansteffan Castle make a pretty spot for picnics while your little ones lose themselves in play. ’Is that a knight I hear approaching?’

A Very Quirky House, My First Impression Was That It Was Quite Stark And Not Very Cosy. There Is A Strong Smell Of Damp In The Ground Floor Rooms, Fresh Slug Trails Every Morning In The Dining Room And The Kitchen. Only Once Did I Find A Slug And That Was In The Main Bedroom. I Guess With A House That'S Almost 300 Years Old There Is A Constant Battle With Damp. The Downstairs Shower Room Is Very Cramped , Larger People Might Find It Very Awkward. Three Flights Of Stairs Was Also A Bit Of A Nuisance When You Like A Cuppa In Bed! I Would Book It Again Although I Did Think It Was A Bit Overpriced.
