Lower Aylescott Cottages (refs 29396, 29490, 29491, 29607, 30032 and UKC162) are located just outside the village of West Down, in the stunning North Devon countryside. The cottages are ideal for couples and smaller parties during the quieter months and are well suited for families during the school holidays. The extensive well-maintained grounds benefit from two fishing lakes and a children’s play area. There are walks around the grounds as well as some local footpaths. Lower Aylescott Cottages are all well-equipped and furnished to a good standard.
The nearby village has a pub and local shop. The properties are very well-located to explore all North Devon has to offer. The renowned beach at Woolacombe is a short distance away, as well as the famous surfing beach at Croyde. For something a bit more rugged, head out to Crow Point and the sand dunes of Braunton Burrows, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The nearest large town is the seaside resort of Ilfracombe. Enjoy an ice cream down at the harbour and see the Damian Hirst sculpture at the harbour entrance called Verity. There is also the Tunnels Beach and the Landmark Theatre, as well as a good range of shops and restaurants. Other local places of interest include Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth funicular railway, which all make for a good day out. Exmoor is a short distance away and on a clear day the views can be spectacular.
