A fantastic country house full of opulence and luxury surrounded by open countryside, Duffryn Mawr Country House is everything and more that you could possibly want for a break in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

This stunning detached property comprises of large open plan kitchen/living area with breakfast bar, vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The property has a games room, a great area for kids and adults alike, alongside a formal dining room with large table, open fire and Bose speakers. The living room has a wood burner and Smart TV, leading through to the bar area with full size Billiard table, perfect for those nights where you are entertaining. The bar leads into a wellbeing area with sauna, private hot tub, changing room and showers. The ground floor has underfloor heating throughout and the main entrance hall has an open fire and beautiful staircase leading to the first floor. Situated in the village of Gilwern Duffryn Mawr is 4.5 miles from the lovely town of Crickhowell – which was named in 2019 as the best place to live in Wales by the Sunday Times, and best high street in Britain in 2018. There is an array of amenities there including boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the ’Green Man’ during August. The town of Abergavenny is 6 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including a Michelin-starred restaurant. Abergavenny is also host to an annual food festival in September. Brecon is just 21 miles away from Duffryn Mawr and has lots of places of interest, such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, south Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. The annual Crickhowell Walking festival also provides a range of guided walks.
