Abergavenny is also host to an annual food festival in September. Brecon is just 21 miles away from Duffryn Mawr and has lots of places of interest, such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, south Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. The annual Crickhowell Walking festival also provides a range of guided walks.
