This beautiful cottage offers a comfortable stay in the charming little village of Swainby, just outside the thriving market town of Northallerton which is full of history. The name Duck Beck Cottage is named after the beck which runs directly outside the property and is the home to the resident ducks. This mid-terrace cottage has plenty of character with a large fireplace with a wood burner and offers both couples and families a luxury holiday retreat whilst being ideally located to explore all that the North York Moors has to offer.
The property is set over two levels - you enter the property into the living area which is a lovely, cosy, comfortable space where you can kick back and relax in front of the wood burner which will keep you warm on those coooler evenings. On the same floor you have a well presented, well equipped stylish kitchen/diner which features Bosch appliances and plenty of room for food preparation with granite work surfaces, and dining space along with a breakfast bar. On the first floor is the beautifully presented master bedroom with a kingsize bed and lovely views of the beck and rolling countryside. In addition, the second bedroom has twin beds ideal for children or friends. Both bedrooms have plush bedding guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. The shower room has been revamped in 2022 with a lovely large walk-in shower, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail.
With the cottage situated outside of Northallerton, the local pubs, restaurants and shops are within easy reach. Alternatively, Swainby itself has two fantastic village pubs serving local ales and good old pub grub, both within a 2-minute walk of the cottage. You can explore the stunning North York Moors National Park, which is full of bike trails and fantastic scenic walks, and the very popular Rievaulx Abbey. Nearby towns include Helmsley, Thirsk, Richmond and a little further afield are York and Leeds which can be accessed by the train station in Northallerton. There is so much to do from this perfect little cottage you will struggle to fit everything in so why not book a few extra days!
