The owner is very pleasant and the milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival were a nice touch. While we found the cottage to be quite comfortable overall, we were not happy with the heavy dark wood panelling in the bedroom which we found oppressive. The shower is shoehorned into the downstairs loo so it's impossible to dry and dress in there meaning you have to go through the kitchen and dining room to go upstairs to dress. The kitchen is cramped with the microwave high on top of the fridge-freezer so you are taking out hot dishes above head height. Not a very safe arrangement especially if we had been any shorter. There was also no legible instructions for any of the appliances. We would have liked more control over when the central heating came on as we were having to dry clothes indoors due to all the rain but I admit we didn't pursue this or the use of the open fires with the owner. Basic satellite TV and WiFi are a definite plus as is the offroad parking at the rear

If you want to stay in your grannies cottage this is the place for you The kitchen is tiny and the small shower room is difficult to use The main bathroom only has a bath when it has plenty of room for a shower The cottage decor is very outdated and full Finally it should not be advertised as a dog friendly house when they are not allowed upstairs or into the living room The best thing about the cottage is the location
