This is the sort of place people come to Skye for. Light, modern, beautiful landscape and a sea view. It’s just perfect!
We have recommended to all of our accommodation providers that they consider Covid-19 guidance to adapt their cleaning processes. The owner of this accommodation has told us they are following the Safer Stays message, which includes:
Enjoying a picturesque location with beautiful views out over the sea, this detached holiday home offers a luxurious retreat, perfect for a family.
Druim Ban, an architect designed house, lies on a croft in the charming community of Camuscross, on the Sleat Peninsula. Set within mature, landscaped gardens, and enjoying a view of the sea, Druim Ban also has a working croft surrounding it, managed by the owners who live just down the road. You will have Highland cows, sheep and pigs as neighbours. The winding road leading to the property in Camuscross is special. You leave behind normality and enter the extraordinary. Pulling up to Druim Ban, there’s nowhere else you’d rather be. With lots of private space right round the property, and seating areas and a barbecue to enjoy, the fully enclosed garden is perfect for a family.Upon entering the house you arrive in a large hallway. Immediately to the left there is a large boot and drying room, very useful for after a day’s adventure out in Skye. There’s a large family bathroom and a double bedroom to the right, and straight on from the hallway is the large and spacious dual-aspect dining room. Glass doors open out onto the patio area with views of the bay beyond. Outside is also a sheltered courtyard patio, which would make a perfect spot for breakfast, or why not wander down to the end of the garden and make the most of the beach? The large kitchen is open plan with the dining room and offers lovely views across the garden to the sea. The living room is beyond the dining room, separated by an impressive bookcase. This room is wonderfully light again with great views, and has an outstanding wood burner.Beyond the living room is the master double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Like the rest of the house, it is artfully designed and decorated. A twin bedroom is to be found at the stop of the stairs, and under the stairs is a clever utility cupboard with a washing machine and tumble dryer.Druim Ban is a dream house, and one you’ll wish you owned yourself. At the very least you’ll want to return again and again. It’s well placed, fairly close to the Skye Bridge and on the charming and often overlooked Sleat Peninsula. You can see the big hitters of Skye from here and then return to your little slice of Highlands and Islands paradise in Camuscross. Coast 100 yards. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
