Description

A cosy stone cottage with open fire in a peaceful location, in the heart of the Jurassic coastline.

Only 1½ miles from the famous Chesil Beach and close to the Dorset Coastal Path, this well-presented stone cottage nestles peacefully in the pretty conservation village of Puncknowle in the beautiful AONB Bride Valley, in the heart of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Visit the ancient rope-making Saxon town of Bridport with its twice-weekly street market, the Cobb at Lyme Regis, the National Trust beach at Burton Bradstock (location of the popular TV series Broadchurch), the quaint harbour and seaside resort of West Bay, the swannery, children’s farm and award-winning, sub-tropical garden at Abbotsbury and the county town of Dorchester. Try a wide variety of local and home-made produce from the local farmers’ markets, and also from the farm shops, tea shops and village pubs close by. Village shop and 16th century pub serving food 200 yards.

Would definitely stay again but not in the summer when the price rises substantially. Too expensive for just two of us. Extremely comfortable cottage. Loved the location and all the very pretty surrounding villages. Lots of lovely walks along local beaches too. It was a shame that the main garden was a distance from the cottage but it did not matter for a winter break
