We wanted to give overall best scores in our review but supposed that if Driftwood Cottage could have been slightly nearer the seafront, but that is being picky! The owners, we felt, had gone the extra mile to ensure guests’ needs and comfort. When we arrived, the little house appeared just as though it had been prepared for their personal friends. So clean and well appointed and equipped. It was our first visit since we were children and found the Isle of Wight and its people so welcoming and happy. The whole of the island is clean and litter free. Ventnor is pretty, but hilly. We took wonderful walks and visited the local sites. We returned home fitter, relaxed and very happy promising a return to Driftwood Cottage next year!

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you. We wish the cottage was nearer the sea but at least the bonus of walking up and down the hills is a great way to keep fit. Usually at the end of these walks there are fab pubs or restaurants to visit. We look forward to welcoming you both back to Driftwood very soon.

Lovely little cottage with excellent amenities. Owners had thought of everything. Bathroom downstairs but well equipped and modern. Stairs steep but description does mention this. 10 minute gentle stroll to Ventnor seafront, 5 mins to local shops inc a co-op and Boots. Good location for local beaches and activities.

Warm welcome, very accommodating as we had twins and the owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything we could possibly need. I cannot find fault with the cottage. It was not only maintained well but was also decorated to a high standard and felt bright and airy. The welcome package was a nice surprise and gift for the babies each was a lovely touch. Great base to go exploring as everywhere is close. Best cottage I've ever stayed in.

Located in a quiet one way street the property was clean and in good order. The only problem we found was the fact that the bathroom was downstairs from the two bedrooms with a very steep and narrow staircase to negotiate. There was no proper handrail at the top third of the stairs. A minor fault with the stairway lighting was very quickly repaired. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. Nice touches with a bottle of wine, coffee tea, etc on arrival and lots of games, DVDs and reading materials. Rear garden very steep and "under development".

Driftwood Cottage is an ideal place to stay in Ventnor. As a young family we had everything we needed and was a perfect retreat after a long day out about or a cosy stay in if the weather was too cold and wet. Our hosts could not do enough for us and struck the perfect balance of providing information without being too intrusive in their presence.
