We had a very enjoyable holiday at Downsview with our 2 dogs and Lyn was very friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic welcome package left for us and the homemade carrot cake was superb. It was lovely to see our dogs being able to run off lead in the meadow, fully enclosed. A freedom that one of them can never have in public. We would certainly recommend this cottage for anyone wishing to take their four legged friends with them on holiday, relaxing, safe and a good base for coastal and South downs way walks.

I have written to you regarding Downsview Cottage It is on a very noisy road, with a level crossing nearby. We were led to believe that the field was used for Agility Training, not for a succession of dogs to be exercised each half an hour. The gate made a noise each time the dog walker changed, my dogs hated it, they were confused. They became stressed and noisy We knew we could only use the field twice daily, but didn't realise this applied to getting rid of poo bags or using the washing machine. There was CCTV surveillance all the time and security lights. We are quiet at home with no traffic and darkness at night. We did not sleep, neither did the dogs, so we left on Tuesday. We didn't go anywhere, it was so hot, too hot for the dogs and Hilary who is recovering from a stroke. I got the impression we were expected to be out in the day, We didn't take any photos We certainly would not visit again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am sorry that, unlike so many other guests, you did not get enjoyment from your stay and did not feel able to make use of the field for your dogs. Much feedback from my other guests has mentioned loving the holiday annexe, its amenities and places of interest nearby and also what it offers for dogs on holiday. Other guests have told me that they feel secure here. The property is well laid back from the road. The grounds, with the exception of the cottage garden, have a security system. The lights in the private garden of the guest accommodation are controlled by sensors. Its windows have blinds, or blinds and curtains, to help to create the right atmosphere and temperature. It is an off lead dog training facility that is based here, as described, and any dog agility element was a few years ago.

Really lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the Downs and coast. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The cake, milk, biscuits, fruit and dog biscuits were an added bonus and great touch. Lynn was a lovely host who could not be more helpful. A great place to enjoy the South Downs with your dogs. The garden really is enclosed and the use of the field in the morning and evening was fantastic for our two greyhounds. We hope to visit again and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who would like a holiday with their dogs.

I loved this cottage it was lovely and bright clean and warm all you needed was there. Very dog friendly. A safe enclosed garden and time spent in a safe enclosed field. You could walk your dogs on beaches or fields or forests with out going far. A beautiful area to stay in. This has got to be one the the best cottages I have stayed in I will hopefully be returning.

Such a wonderful holiday cottage. We never dreamed of finding somewhere so dog friendly, yet really nice for the humans as well. A totally enclosed garden and then a secure field beyond! Perfect
