Description

This unusual yet comfortable cottage has been lovingly converted and is surrounded by fields and countryside.

Shared use of outdoor heated swimming pool (May to Sept)

These well-presented, unusual and comfortable holiday properties consist of a self-contained, ground floor wing of the owner’s detached, 19th-century home, set within its own grounds, and a detached cottage, set within the owner’s grounds. Wells Cathedral, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Ham Wall RSPB Reserve and excellent walking on the Mendip Hills are also an easy drive. Enjoy a great day out to the historical, Regency spa town of Bath with its Roman spa bath, or visit the stately home of Longleat, home of Lord Bath and its safari park. Visit Stourhead Gardens (NT) and the traditional seaside resorts of Burnham on Sea, Brean Down and Weston Super Mare with their sandy beaches, ideal for sand surfing.
Local activities include a leisure centre in Wells, 5 miles, golf courses, cycling and a retail factory shopping outlet, 3 miles. Shop and pub 3 miles.

Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Owners very friendly and helpful - we really appreciated the Wine, Milk, Tea and Shortbread on arrival which was a nice touch. Close to many places of interest so a good location.

We had a wonderful stay at upside down cottage. The owners made us very welcome and were on hand for any queries we had. The cottage had a great layout and the use of the pool was a great bonus. The owner asked us to ask before using the Pool as it was in their private garden. This also meant that as a family we had sole use of the pool. Overall a wonderful stay in a great location with lovely owners. We would highly recommend.

A lovely place to stay, with all one needs for comfort and coziness. Friendly/helpful owners on hand. We ate out most nights, but the cottage is well equipped for the nights we ate in.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped with games and books for both adults and children. The owners are lovely and gave us a very friendly welcome even though our plan to pick up the keys changed a couple of times. Highly recommend!

We only had a long week-end at Upside Down Cottage and would have liked to stay for a few more days. We shall certainly put it on our properties list to re-visit in the future when we are next visiting our family.

The cottage is spacious and well decorated. There is plenty of space to park outside. The upstairs is open plan with pleasant seating area, dining area and a well equipped kitchen. The cottage is about three miles from Glastonbury and within driving distance of Bath, Wells and Stonehenge. Our stay was a very pleasant one the owners are welcoming

A lovely cottage set in a wonderful central location. The house was very clean and extremely well-equipped - it had everything we needed both in the kitchen & the rest of the house. Plenty of towels, tea-towels, cutlery & knives, plates etc. Even washing up liquid, scourer, and shower gel. Tea, coffee, sugar. And milk & wine in the fridge on arrival! Fantastic. (We have stayed in some places which were so sparsely furnished/equipped we have had to go and buy a kitchen knife & spoons & a tea-towel & oven gloves....) A great selection of books & games are provided. And the swimming pool is a joy to use, clean and private. The owners are so kind & helpful, couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay, and are a fount of local knowledge. Thank you for a great holiday.
