Nestled on a arable working farm, within the Worcestershire countryside, Dovetail Barn is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas.

Positioned in beautiful Worcestershire countryside, this charming, single-storey, barn conversion lies next to the owners’ home on their arable working farm. Dovetail Barn is the perfect base from which to explore the local area on foot or by bike, with many footpaths, including the Wychavon Way, bridleways and cycle paths nearby. Rous Lench village is part of The Lenches, a picturesque region covering a portion of Worcestershire, full of wonderful sights and sounds, which has history that can be traced back to Saxon times. Whatever the time of year, there is plenty to see and do. Centrally located, the property is well placed to visit both the Cotswolds and the Malverns, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The historic towns of Evesham and Alcester are about 7 miles away; alternatively guests can visit the cathedral city of Worcester, which is 15 miles. Explore Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon or Droitwich Spa, both 14 miles, or take a walk up to Broadway Tower, 15 miles. Enjoy a day by the river in Upton-Upon-Severn, 16 miles, or if you fancy a day at the races, Cheltenham is only 25 miles away, as is the city of Birmingham. Within an hour’s drive is the Forest of Dean and Herefordshire. Golf and fishing within 2 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

The reason I booked the property was because of the shared paddock mentioned in advertisement. It does not exist. A small garden is available by walking across farm entrance alongside the main road but it is locked between 10pm and 7am. So you can only let dogs out into the tiny enclosed courtyard shown in photo if you go out in the evening or need to exercise the dogs early in the morning. Double bed suitable for a small couple only.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Sorry to hear you felt disappointed with the Paddock available for your use whilst staying with us at Dovetail Barn. We feel the Paddock is a reasonable sized area for exercising dogs being just short of 1/10 of an acre in total area; it is fully enclosed and is on the private farm yard with access to it set back 10 metres from the C Classification road that runs through the village. The gates are locked overnight as living on a farm we have to be very security conscious. Had you have brought this inconvenience to our attention during your stay you would have been more than welcome to also have use of our front garden directly outside of Dovetail Barn. Upon arrival I asked you to please come and knock on our front door at any time during your stay if we could assist you in any way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We hope we have done everything to make our guests stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, however we do realise that some guests may have individual needs. If these are brought to our attention at their earliest convenience we will endeavour to the best of our ability, to do something about it.
