We were looking forward to this holiday for ages. We were pleased with the location of the property, the high street was within a short walk and there were lots of pubs and restaurants to visit in the town. The lock in the only door in the property, was very difficult to open or close, we tried oiling without any success, this could have been a serious fire risk. The shower was not functioning properly, with the water running cold and then without warning would go to boiling, very dangerous. the smoke alarm is almost above the cooker, consequently the alarm would go off as soon as we used the oven Our stay was cut short, as due to the problems above, we had a rodent in the bedroom with us, so we decided that enough was enough for us.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are pleased you enjoyed the location of the property. Thank you for drawing to our attention about the lock on the door we have checked and it does seem OK. We have contacted a plumber about the pressure of the water for the shower, we will have to have a cap put on to regulate the power of the water. The fire alarm is situated at the bottom of the stairs, but due to being open plan this could have caused the alarm to go off but it has to be there for fire regulations. We have had pest control round and nothing was found and no droppings so we are unable to explain the rodent. We are sorry that you felt you had to leave early, had we been contacted at the time we would have done our utmost to rectify any issues.

Another great week in Bridport at Gentlemen Cottage. It is well situated in town and perfectly adequate for two people. The main drawback is that the seating is uncomfortable and some of the bedroom furniture is very dated and old, (not in a good way). In general, however, it is very pleasant.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Bridport is a great town with plenty of places to go for an evening out. The only downside was the entrance to the cottage via an alley. The green grocers left their rubbish piled up outside which became rather smelly in the heat.

A pleasant cottage for two, well situated in the heart of Bridport. Some strange furniture choices, no wi-fi and poor shower facilities but generally fine. Ideal for a short break.

we loved the cottage and the location all we had problems with was the parking or rather the lack of it I believe the last time we rented the cottage a parking permit was arranged for us.
