This was our third visit to Dolphin Cottage. In fact we last stayed there in September2017when everything was fine, however the cottage has been neglected in the meantime and we were very disappointed. The crockery was badly stained and the dishwasher was broken. There was no hot water in the kitchen and bathroom until we fixed the heater. The bunkbeds were falling apart. Everywhere smelt musty and damp. Nevertheless we still managed to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and have a good holiday

Nice cosy cottage in ideal location near to beaches, coast towns, and village restaurants/pubs. There are some issues which need resolving if we were to go again. Water/heating system is very noisy at night , so much that in the upstairs bedrooms you were unable to sleep. We would specify that this is done immediately. Also the upstairs shower was poor, not enough power, needs replacing Garden needs bushes cutting back firstly to make space and secondly to make another sitting area where washing line is.

Dolphin Cottage is superbly located in Wiveton and a well laid out cottage with private enclosed garden (there is a right of way for the next door cottage). The cottage is well equipped, particularly in the kitchen but was in need of a deep clean which was disappointing. There was a drainage smell in the ensuite and the noisy plumbing kept us awake at night. If these things were resolved we would have no hesitation in staying at Dolphin Cottage in the future.

We had no electric until on the day of arrival due to a planned power cut.. I sorted this out with the power company. Who were very good.. I won’t go into too much detail, but after phoning the owner.. who sent a builder who broke into the meter box because he didn’t bring a meter box key , which was specifically asked for !, because we were unable to find one in the cottage. There was prior notice to this as the paperwork was on the coffee table in the lounge.. so some one knew about it but failed to notify the owner or yourselves.. The couple who where in the next door cottage boiled water for us, so we managed to get through the evening until electricity was restored. Then the plumbing and shower was so noisy in the upstairs bedroom I ended up sleeping on the settee. The next day on reading the visitors book it was noted that the last 2 occupants had also made comments about the plumbing.. with hints on how to handle the situation. So this is what we did. We put no comments in the book. We don’t think the cleaner knows that tops of skirting boards exist..

Lovely spacious dog friendly cottage with everything you could want. Well equiped kitchen, lots of nice touches like leaving tea and coffee and cooking basics if needed. Great location for exploring North Norfolk, everything was much closer than we imagined! Clean and well cared for property. Very friendly locals. Only minor fault is I imagine parking is tricky in high season as a narrow road (that you park on) that presumably gets busy with parked cars from other adjacent properties.

We enjoyed our stay, but there were some problems with noisy plumbing and draughts from air vents. It was exceedingly cold weather however. With a few improvements this cottage could be very good indeed.

Nice cottage in fabulous location. Kitchen really good with loads of pots, pans and utensils. However, if you are going in winter and there is a really cold snap I don't think the heating would cope. The week we were there (first week in Jan ) was quite mild - I was okay but girlfriend struggled to keep warm even with log burner going - not a lot of heat coming of it.
