In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

Dolphin Cottage is the ideal touring spot with plenty to explore or simply relax on the balcony and admire the beautiful views.

Dolphin Cottage dates back to 1850 when it was a former trawler captain’s residence. Set in the historical fishing port of Brixham, the cottage sits high in a pretty colourful terrace where no cars can access but there is ample parking just behind. There is a patio terrace for al fresco dining and to watch stunning sunsets. It has the most fantastic uninterrupted views out to the bay and over the fishing harbour and marina. Torquay is to your left, and to your right is Berry Head, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 40 million years in the making. The harbour shops, restaurants and seafood kiosks are just a couple of minutes away. Why not try crabbing? Choose a spot, drop your line and take in the atmosphere of the fishing port. You can also take in the view of Brixham with its colourful houses cascading down on either side of the harbour. Fresh fish is available directly from the fish market. With 22 miles of spectacular coastline, water sports play a large part in the many leisure activities available within a few miles. For those preferring to stay on dry land, you will find some of the most beautiful coastal walks in the country to enjoy. The South West Coast Path National Trail has 630 miles of superb coastal walking. Take a ferry to Torquay with its bustling shops bistros, cafés and the coastal zoo, or a boat trip to maritime Dartmouth, where you can ride on the Dartmouth Steam Railway or leisurely cruise along the River Dart. Visit Agatha Christie’s Greenway house, Dartmoor with its tors and quaint villages. Fine golf courses are a short drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

It was a lovely, warm, clean cottage with amazing views in an excellent location. The only minor challenge is car parking, but that is mentioned in the details so we can't grumble about that.

We loved the location of the cottage albeit up steep hills and steps. It kept us very fit. The stairs within the cottage were exceptionally steep and rather worrying. My son fell down them a few times. The climb up to the cottage with groceries and suitcases is NOT suitable for exceptionally young (prams) or elderly. It was disappointing that there was very little parking available. We went out of season and still, when we found a parking space we tried not to go out in the car again so not to loose it. The cleanliness was liveable but not great. There were places around the furniture which were gathering dust and the odd dead spider and web scattered through out. The top bedroom ceiling was suffering from damp and the ceiling plaster had started to come away. However the location and views were second to none and the amenities good. We would go back again.
