If you like the outdoors, you have direct access to Blencathra which can offer anything from a leisurely stroll to a quite challenging climb. Other Lakeland Fells in the area include Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Catbells and Latrigg, so pack your walking boots!

Clean, well equipped cottage. Furnishing are slightly dated. Dog friendly with carpet throughout, so if your not a dog/pet lover you may notice some pet hair. Garden area was much smaller than expected, just room for a picnic table. Fully decked, so nice and clean. Lovely spacious hot tub inside a small extension to the cottage. Around a 20min walk along a flat path to a nice pub serving lovely food. My only dislike was that your asked to checkout before 9.30, so you either have to get up early or pack up all your belongings the night before. Getting the teenagers out of bed intime to pack up and clean up was challenging! Overall we had a lovely stay and would return.

Our second visit to this cottage as we enjoyed it so much the first time. The only negative comment is regarding the hot tub, due to it not been up to temperature until our second day we could only enjoy it the one night. Our first visit couple of years ago we again arrived on the Friday for a two night stay and we’re able to enjoy the hot tub both nights. Whilst it was disappointing not to be able to use the tub on our first night this in no way distracted from a very enjoyable stay.
