Super little property in a lovely little village. Only slight downside to the village is that there is no shop and only one pub, which is really a restaurant with a small bar area. The menu is limited and fairly expensive but the pub it is warm and comfortable with friendly staff. The property is excellent, well maintained and really comfortable with two double beds and two single beds. Unfortunately whilst we were there the boiler pump failed on a Saturday evening, despite only being 4 years old and regularly serviced, so we had no hot water or central heating for 36 hours in January. However these things happen and the heating engineer sent out by the owner was very good and even lit a coal fire for us to come back to when he couldn't get the heating going.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you and I can only apologise for the heating issue.

Really cosy but spacious cottage with lovely feel, brilliantly located in Clearwell. We were a party of 3 with a dog and I really hope to go back before long. Gorgeous walks on the doorstep and 10 min drive to Coleford which has independent shops and supermarkets. Highly recommend.

Excellent value. Comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. Great location for the village pubs and the castle. We will visit again!

Cottage was well equipped and scrupulously clean. It has a lovely little garden, three good size bedrooms and a good working kitchen. There is an extensive bookshelf if you forget your reading matter, and lots of DVDs; however I would have liked a few CDs to be able to play, given how difficult it was to find any clear radio stations. Robin, who looks after the cottage for the owner, couldn't have been more helpful - a big thank you to him! The cottage was convenient for all parts of the the Forest and the river Wye; all in all a great place to stay!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We don't provide CDs because of so varied differing tastes in music by our guests and there is an extensive selection of music on the TV through SKY.

Second time staying here and we enjoyed it just as much, if not more than the first time.
