Digby’s Hut is a wonderful shepherd’s hut. Made to a very good standard, it offers a double bed, a wall mounted TV, a sofa area with a wood burner, a reasonable size kitchen area as well as a private shower room located within the hut. You have your own private garden area, which can be a rarity with these style of holiday homes, with garden furniture and a wood-fired hot tub. Please note the hot tub will be empty upon arrival, this takes around 20 minutes to fill and up to 3 hours to heat depending on the time of year.
From your doorstep of the hut, head out on foot to explore what the local village has to offer as well as an abundance of walks and trails.
Brosterfield Farm is located within a great area, local to many walks and tourist attractions.
Visit the market town of Bakewell, famous for its puddings, and if you go to the museum in town you can learn about the Bakewell elephant!
Buxton is also a popular town, better known for its spa and opera house.
The stately home of Chatsworth House, built in the 17th and early 18th centuries has been home to the Devonshire family for over 400 years. In addition to the house, there are 105 acres of gardens to explore and an amazing cascade waterfall and fountain.
Haddon Hall is like stepping back in time with over 900 years of history. It has been the backdrop for several TV programmes and films including Jane Eyre, The Princess Bride, Elizabeth, Pride and Prejudice and The Other Boleyn Girl.
The Peak District has more to offer including the show caves at Castleton and the Blue John mines. Matlock and Matlock Bath are also worth a visit as is a trip on the cable car to the Heights of Abraham.
