Located on a quiet residential street in the Lytham suburbs of Fairhaven, Denford House is a substantial detached holiday home providing spacious and comfortable accommodation on the popular Fylde coast. The property boasts an enclosed, lawned garden to the front and side of the property with a sitting-out area and garden furniture, as well as an enclosed open area for your four-legged friends to enjoy. The cosmopolitan town of Lytham with its numerous bars, cafes, shops and restaurants is just 2 miles away making it an ideal base for families and couples alike. Lytham is internationally famous for its golf and has no less than 5 championship golf courses, making it popular with celebrities. The town also hosts various events throughout the year including the Lytham Proms which takes place every August. Nearby is a cinema, indoor swimming pool, beach and a variety of coastal walks. Fairhaven Lake is a short walk from the property, offering tennis, boat hire and bowling amongst its attractions. There is also a cafe and RSPB discovery centre and being so close to Ribble Estuary it is a popular destination for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Families will enjoy Blackpool, 8 miles, whose many attractions include the famous Tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. Other coastal towns worth a visit are Thornton Cleveleys and Fleetwood, whose designer shopping outlet village is very popular. Should you fancy a change from the coastal landscapes there are lots of places to visit which are all very accessible thanks to its proximity to the M55 which connects to the M6. Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland AONB, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District can all be reached in just under an hour. Beach 500 yards.     Denford House is a very spacious comfortable holiday home with friendly owners. We love the location as it is very close to dog walks and for our visits to relatives in the area. We feel it would benefit from a little tlc and a back door giving access to the rear yard/patio area, especially when taking pets.

    Third time we have stayed and cannot wait to come back. Excellent location, very quiet, no problem parking.Very warm house and very clean. Beach cafe within 5 minutes walking distance if you fancy a breakfast that will set you up for the day.

    Family of six Lovely big house, Ideal for large families. Superb location in a quiet area but within easy reach of shops, restaurants etc and of course Blackpool. Mark and Abigail were very helpful Just a minor observation, the back door isn't accessible which means the pets need to come in via the front door onto the cream carpets which we worried about making a mess with wet paws We would definitely recommend and will be booking again for next year Lesley, Richard, Amy, Nathan & the kids

    Back door not usable(locked) I regard that as a fire hazard, garden a disgrace front and back(weeds,leaves and bushes fowling the footpath to the car parking area),rugs at the front door(not allowing the inside door to open properly) and the one in one of the sitting rooms curled up at the edges (tripping hazard),toaster and microwave had to be cleaned out before they could be used and the toaster only half of it worked.To be a dog friendly cottage light coloured carpets not appropriate(and with the back door being locked you couldn't bring the dog in it to be cleaned before going over the carpets).One plus was the bedding(excellent) One of the toilets didn't have a sink in it,If you used it you had to go to the other one to wash your hands(not handy if somebody was using the other toilet at the same time).Not the best cottage we have visited.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments - we are unhappy to hear your experience was not up to your expectations. Regarding the back door, as we have one exit (the front door); we have a centralised smoke detection system connected to the mains which has been fitted according to UK fire safety standards. We are not sure why there were leaves on the car parking area as we clean them free of leaves every week, however there was particularly windy weather around the time of your arrival. In reply to your email that also stated there were leaves in the gutter, we offered to send our plumber to clear them and asked you for a mobile phone number so this could be arranged, but you did not get back to us. We put rugs in the property for extra warmth and to enable you to dry down dogs in the hall - these rugs are cleaned regularly - this is the first time we have had a complaint about them as most people find them useful for drying dogs and leaving shoes on. Our cleaners clean the toaster every week, and we were not aware that one side of the toaster didn't work: when we emailed you, we reminded you that there is an additional toaster in the cupboard next to the cooker. We always mention to guests that we are "very relaxed" about the cream carpets as the majority of our guests are dog owners and families with children - we always mention that because of this we clean the carpets regularly. Regarding the toilet, we have a toilet in the bathroom where there is a shower and bath - we have an additional toilet next door, which families that stay with us appreciate as it is an additional toilet, and there is a washbasin in one of the bedrooms, so it has never been mentioned as an annoyance, only a benefit. We hope that the above has helped clarify the points you raised - we are sorry your experience wasn't a positive one.

    Absolutely fabulous holiday. Have stayed at many self catering cottages in the Lytham area over the years and this was by far the very best. Comfortable, spacious, welcoming, great location. Wonderful welcome from Abigail and the gorgeous baby blue eyes Lucy. Will definitely be back.
