Nearby, a golf club and horse riding over Dartmoor are available. Being in the midst of Dartmoor, there are many superb walks, reservoirs, heather-clad tors and Dartmoor ponies. There are many places of interest for the whole family. If you are a keen walker, the Teign Valley is well known for its delightful woodland footpaths. It is an area of outstanding beauty and in the springtime, the Dunsford woods are famous for beautiful natural daffodils and a little later, a carpet of bluebells. Lovely cottage in beautiful grounds. Lots of wildlife to see, badgers, squirrels, variety of birds including birds of prey. Well equipped. Comfortable bed upstairs. Friendly hosts who would help if you needed something. A quiet place on the edge of Dartmoor.

Brook Lodge could be a better place to stay if it had a little more investment. It was in a beautiful place in the woodlands, but everything had overgrown. Not like the photos online. The bedrooms were comfy and clean. The kitchen was good but the microwave needs replacing as rusted inside. Both bathrooms were very good. The main living area was very tired and in need of updating and brightening up. Otherwise you had everything well equipped. The garden furniture was very tired also and with the garden being overgrown you couldn't stay in for a day to relax and read. It is an ideal location for all the walks and the country life surrounding it. We will miss the horses thundering across the fields and bleating of the sheep and lambs, as well as all the different birds chattering in the trees.

Having previously visited their smaller let next door we loved this very spacious and cosy ‘cabin in the woods’ with the most comfortable bed. If you want somewhere very private surrounded by birds and beautiful wild plants, this is the place for you. The owners are very kind and always welcoming. Great places to walk and eat around in addition to scrumptious cream teas nearby. We will definitely be back.
