Description

Set in the heart of the Mendip hills and located on a working farm, Dale Barton is perfect for a fun-filled family holiday.

Set on the outskirts of Priddy, on a working farm, in the heart of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and in a wonderful location to explore the best of Someset. These two converted barns, Dale Barton (W44324) and Dale Cottage (W44325) have interconnecting doors making them a great choice for a large family or group of friends. Alternatively, they can be booked independently. They both have patio doors leading to the patio or courtyard.

There is lovely scenery, country walks and cycling to be found on the doorstep and a village pub nearby in which to ‘wine and dine’ when you return from your days out. Within a few miles, you can have family days out wandering around the impressive Cheddar Gorge, exploring some of the magical and spectacular caves, either in the gorge, or perhaps at Wookey Hole, where you can also take in the 19th-century Paper Mill, Victorian Penny Arcade, Magical Mirror Maze, and much more. The city of Wells is but a few miles away, with its superb cathedral, Bishop’s Palace and quaint shops. Slightly further afield, a walk to the top of the enchanting Glastonbury Tor, with its great views over the county, or maybe spend some time in Street wondering around Clarks Village factory shopping outlet. There are so many places to visit in this charming county, you will be spoilt for choice: Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, West Somerset Steam Railway, Weston-super-Mare with its Grand Pier and SeaQuarium and Bath with its many museums and attraction. There are also many historical houses and gardens to enjoy such as Hestercombe House and Gardens, Montacute House, Barrington Court and Glastonbury Abbey. Beach 18 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Lovely spacious and well equipped . Maybe could do with a large mirror in the lounge area to bring more light into the room. However the place has been done out with quality and good workmanship. For once in a holiday let I found most of the kitchen knives sharper than some of mine, fantastic! Everyone that we met during our stay in and around the place were all very helpful and friendly. The local pub, the Queen Victoria was good and the hand made meat pies in the local farm shop are delicious.

Lovely cottage, great for a long weekend away. Quite location of the beaten track; a good base for visiting Cheddar and surrounding areas.

Very convenient for sightseeing. Comfortable accommodation. Kitchen is poorly designed- difficult to reach things in overhead cabinets. Fridge isn't big enough for 8 people.

Well-presented accommodation in a lovely, quiet location. Perfect base for visiting Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar. Footpaths close to the cottage for local walking.
