Providing split level accommodation over three floors this cottage provides comfortable accommodation in a great location.

In a fine location in the scenic Marshwood Vale, midway between the popular and picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis and Bridport, on the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast and only 3 miles from the quaint seaside resort of Charmouth, these three holiday cottages, situated on a working beef farm, offer comfortable accommodation and a great location to enjoy the best of West Dorset. Stable Cottage, (ref 14804) is a detached honey coloured cottage looking out over the courtyard, Foxglove, (ref 25230) comprises of a single storey barn conversion with a couple of steps up to the living/dining room/kitchen and 2nd bedroom, and Bluebell Cottage (ref 26933) is split-level 3 floor accommodation; and all of these holiday properties can be booked independently or together. All have a small patio area. There is wonderful scenic walking from the doorstep into the Marshwood Vale and on the coast some stunning scenery overlooking the whole of Lyme Bay from Portland down to Torquay and, not for the faint hearted, walking up to the top of Golden Cap - the highest point on England’s South coast with breath taking views. Guests can enjoy this beautiful stretch of coast, taking in some fossil hunting, boating, swimming, and golf nearby. Explore the many little seaside resorts such as West Bay, Eype, Sidmouth, Beer and Seaton and in particular Lyme Regis with its traditional harbour, famous Cob and variety of little shops. Further afield within easy driving is Weymouth with its Blue Flag sandy beach, Sealife centre, Time Walk and many other family attractions or going west, days out at Exeter with its cathedral, catacombs, shops and restaurants. Going inland explore this pleasant part of Dorset, taking in Beaminster, Broadwindsor, and Forde Abbey and Gardens. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Bluebell Cottage was a great holiday let except for the following points which took the edge off our stay. The blinds on the bedroom windows aren't thick enough to darken the rooms so guests are awoken at dawn whether they like it or not! It is lovely and light during the day but anyone who might need a darkened room to clear a migraine might want to stay elsewhere. I wish the cottage had a shower instead of a bath, and like other guests, felt the single mattresses weren't very comfortable. The kitchen is very well-equipped, in fact it's so full of equipment and crockery that there is no cupboard space left for food! A tall cupboard in the entrance hall would contain all the cleaning equipment (hoover, mop & bucket, brushes etc.) currently on view and free up space in the kitchen cupboards if non-essential items (iron etc.) were moved there. It's not mentioned specifically in the listing but please note - there is no wifi here, and with only sporadic mobile phone signals (we're on o2) we had very limited internet access in the cottage. It was great to have a huge field behind the cottage to exercise our dog along with the owner's Labrador Harvey, and we all loved the cosy atmosphere created when we lit the woodburner in the evenings. The only other thing to mention is that this usually quiet cottage is on a dairy farm, so you may occasionally hear tractors and experience the smells associated with a working farm environment!

Really lovely cottage for a family with children to stay in. It’s very close to Charmouth and there’s lots to do nearby. The cottage is far more spacious than the pictures suggest and it’s a nice place to relax in if the weather is inclement. The farmer is a lovely chap and lets children play with the lovable farm dog. It’s quiet and remote and perfect if you have your own pet dog. The owners also put in the fridge a small carton of milk so we could make a cup of tea when we arrived!
