Cyder Press Barn has been beautifully converted to create a fantastic base for couples or families to explore Ringwood and the New Forest Country Park.

This beautifully converted, spacious former cider press, located behind the owner’s home in a quiet residential road, makes the perfect base for couples or small families looking to enjoy the delights of the New Forest Country Park. At the time the Cyder Press Barn was constructed the area was festooned with apple orchards. It has been carefully converted to allow for maximum space and light, this superb barn has been tastefully and stylishly furnished throughout. During its renovation it was discovered that the barn had originally had wooden floors, indicating that it was built to process apples and not house animals. There are many charming features such as original solid wood doors, woodwork craftsmanship, vaulted beamed ceiling in the living room with a huge feature clock and a wood burner to snuggle in front of in the colder months. There is also a double sofa-bed in the living room that is ideal for children or additional guests. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and well-equipped, and the downstairs shower room boasts a large shower cubicle, sink and toilet. Upstairs, in the former hayloft, the generous-sized bedroom has an en-suite toilet and features a sloping ceiling and wooden beams. Guests have the added benefit of a welcome pack on arrival. There is private gated parking available for two cars and direct access onto a large lawned enclosed garden with a sitting-out area and barbecue. As the apple orchards went into decline the barn was converted to house horses, probably sometime after the Great War, and continued to do so until the late 1980s to early 1990s.
You will not be short on things to do in this popular area. Ringwood has a good selection of shops, cafés and pubs. Ringwood Brewery, which offers regular tours, is well worth a visit! The nearest pub is a characterful, thatched inn just a 5-minute walk away. There is also a leisure centre with a 25m indoor pool and a children’s soft play area.
The New Forest is less than a 5-minute drive away and provides miles of scenic walks, and a network of bridle paths, cycle tracks (local bike hire available) and footpaths with roaming ponies, deer cattle. There are also many picturesque villages to explore.
For those who enjoy a spot of golf then there are three courses for you to choose from, within an 8-mile radius. If fishing is more to your taste, then there are a variety of fishing lakes nearby. There is also a great range of other outdoor activities on offer locally. At the nearby Moors Valley Country Park, you can enjoy Forest Segway, Go Ape, golf, cycling, a narrow-gauge steam railway and play park. Close by, Avon Heath Country Park offers walking trails with unique and rare wildlife. Just outside Ringwood, the New Forest Waterpark has wakeboarding, kayaking, water skiing and an inflatable aquapark. There are also plenty of beautiful beaches nearby, including Mudeford, Highcliffe, Sandbanks and Bournemouth.
