Cottage is in an amazing spot for Snowdon with a tea room and pub which serves good food (though on expensive side). Cottage was ok for 3 of us for the weekend, bedrooms are tiny and we opted for the twin room on that basis. The cottage boasts a renovation to a high standard but I would disagree somewhat with that, the accommodation is adequate but a little dated. The showers good and powerful if you can escape from the shower curtain. A dishwasher would be a nice addition, the kitchen is spacious and toasty! We didn’t use the outside area but imagine it’s nice in good weather but not sure it gets the sun. Overall a lovely cottage for a weekend walk up Rhyd-Ddu! Dog loved it and found the treats left in seconds!

Firstly it's important to say that the owners were extremely accommodating and welcoming. Our daughters were ill while we were at the cottage and they came within a couple of hours with spare bedding and towels. The bed based in the main bedroom was also broken and they managed to fix this too. The cottage is located in an amazing village with easy access to great walking. The village pub is also very nice. If all you need to s base then it's fine. The cottage is listed as 4 stars. It didn't feel 4 stars to me. I chose this cottage over other places based on the description, which wasn't accurate. The lighting in the main room is either very bright or too dim if you only use the lamps. The garden is NOT dog proof. My labrador easily fit through the wooden railings at the end of the garden and on inspection, there were other gaps he could have easily walked/hopped through. The bedding, towels, beds and furniture were of poor quality and were not comfortable, not akin to 4 stars. The mattress on the master bed was thin and very hard. The shower rail was rusty loop over the bath - not very 4 star. The kitchen had what you needed but just enough plates and cutlery for 4. Which meant we were washing up all the time. The central heating worked well and the wood burner was very welcoming.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am sorry that you didn’t appear to enjoy your stay. It seems a shame that you gave such a low and unjust overall Reevoo score. I assume the broken bed base was the main reason for your low score. The double bed base had been broken during your stay and we were not notified until your 4th night. I am sure the bed was uncomfortable because of this but we temporarily fixed it and a new bed has now been ordered. The mattress is memory foam and we have had no complaints from previous guests. The bedding was purchased from Ikea and the towels are M&S so a little perplexed about your comments. I disagree with your comments that the furniture were of poor quality as they are from Ikea and Ercol. We noticed that two new duvets had been opened during your stay. Unfortunately, we are unable to use these now as they have been soiled. The wooden rails in the garden are 10cm apart. As mentioned in the booking conditions it states, “You must not leave children or pets unsupervised in the garden. Please note that an enclosed garden is not impenetrable”. The cottage sleeps four and we have followed the Agency guidelines by supplying sufficient crockery and cutlery for four people. The shower rail will be replaced and thank you for notifying us. The four star official rating description is “Excellent standard throughout” which Cwm yr Afon is. The various belongings that you have left behind have been posted free of charge.

Very pleased with the cottage. The main living area was larger than expected. Very tight around the double bed but we knew this when we booked. Wifi and Freesat kept us in contact with the outside world when we wanted it! Only missing luxury was a dishwasher but gave the opportunity to train daughter to wash-up!

Suited our needs and we thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Garden was useful for the dogs but not entirely enclosed as our collie got through the fence. A shame there was no villiage shop but pub was satisfactory. On the negative, the logs provided were too large for the fire, but overall an excellent location and cottage. Thanks
