Ideal touring location close to the coast with countryside views
Cuthbert Cottage is in an ideal touring location close to the coast and with countryside views. It makes an excellent base from which to discover Northumberland and the Scottish Borders country.
Set on the Heritage Coastal Route, Cuthbert Cottage forms part of a small cluster of barn conversions at Adderstone, just 4 miles from Bamburgh.
This welcoming, end of terrace, converted holiday cottage makes the most of the lovely countryside views with its charming upside-down living area and unique first floor balcony which enjoys views across fields to the sea and spectacular Bamburgh Castle.
A cosy, peaceful retreat for all ages and the ideal base from which to explore this magnificent area with sweeping beaches and splendid coastal walks. This location also offers numerous cycling routes and a variety of nearby golf courses such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Goswick as well as North Berwick and Roxborough. From Seahouses (which is just a few minutes’ drive away), regular boat trips depart for the Farne Islands. North of Bamburgh lies Budle Bay, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The village of Lucker, just a mile away, offers a local pub and a village store as well as an opportunity to indulge in the day spa and salon. Visit Alnwick with its majestic castle and Harry Potter connections, enchanting water gardens and cobbled streets, or venture along the coast to Bamburgh or Dunstanburgh Castles. A short drive over the causeway to Holy Island (Lindisfarne), shouldn’t be missed, whilst the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is an easy drive away. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
