Beautifully furnished to a high standard with a unique first floor balcony. Lovely countryside views and only a short distance from the beach.

Ideal touring location close to the coast with countryside views

Cuthbert Cottage is in an ideal touring location close to the coast and with countryside views. It makes an excellent base from which to discover Northumberland and the Scottish Borders country.
Set on the Heritage Coastal Route, Cuthbert Cottage forms part of a small cluster of barn conversions at Adderstone, just 4 miles from Bamburgh.
This welcoming, end of terrace, converted holiday cottage makes the most of the lovely countryside views with its charming upside down living area and unique first floor balcony which enjoys views across fields to the sea and spectacular Bamburgh Castle.
A cosy, peaceful retreat for all ages and the ideal base from which to explore this magnificent area with sweeping beaches and splendid coastal walks. This location also offers numerous cycling routes and a variety of nearby golf courses such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Goswick as well as North Berwick and Roxborough. From Seahouses (which is just a few minutes’ drive away), regular boat trips depart for the Farne Islands. North of Bamburgh lies Budle Bay, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The village of Lucker, just a mile away, offers a local pub, a creperie/pizzeria and a village store as well as an opportunity to indulge in the day spa and salon. Visit Alnwick with its majestic castle and Harry Potter connections, enchanting water gardens and cobbled streets, or venture along the coast to Bamburgh or Dunstanburgh Castles. A short drive over the causeway to Holy Island (Lindisfarne), shouldn’t be missed, whilst the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is an easy drive away. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.5 miles.

Ground floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and wooden floors.

A beautiful holiday haven with thoughtful extras but sadly a stressful holiday due to construction works & it became an unresolved problem.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; It is unfortunate that this construction work on a neighbouring property was taking place during your holiday. To be clear, as you know, the work was not taking place at our property and was totally beyond our control; it was taking place on the neighbours private land. Within 30 mins of receiving your text alerting us to your concerns, we had responded and first thing the following morning, we drove to meet you at our cottage. Over the next few days official local bodies confirmed to you that there were no issues with the construction works that were taking place. Whilst we appreciate that during normal building working hours there was some noise and disruption, other guests staying at neighbouring cottages accepted this and recognised that the work was not taking place at unreasonable hours of the day or evening. On several occasions during the course of the contact we had during your stay (face-to-face, via email, via text and in phone conversations) you were extremely complimentary about Cuthbert Cottage. I would refer you to a series of texts you sent me in which you wrote that the cottage was the best you had ever stayed in - " and I have stayed in lots!" You acknowledged that the situation was beyond our control; indeed, during the week you texted me saying "sincere thanks for your care and concern" and "I do so appreciate none of this is your fault". You thanked me for the "extra specialness."

Comfortable, well equipped, warm cottage. From our point of view with a dog an enclosed garden would have made it perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the area which is new to us.

We had a relaxing time in this very cosy and well equipped cottage. It is excellently located close to the spectacular coastline around Bamburgh and for travelling into the Cheviot Hills. Also the A1 proximity enables you to travel quickly up to Scotland and Edinburgh if you wish a day trip there. I would definitely return

We have just spend a super week in Cuthbert Cottage. It is modern with a very well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge area. The hot water and heating were reassuringly efficient during the chilly evenings. Although we did not use it on this trip the balcony and outside space with barbecue would be lovely in the summer. The owners Sue and Dave are very friendly and made every effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Cuthbert Cottage is a cut above the normal holiday accommodation offering and with the coast only 10 minutes away it really is a great base to explore this wonderful area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and found the location so convenient for exploring the area. It is always nice to hear that guests have found the cottage warm especially during particularly cold spells. We really appreciate all your feedback and the time you took to submit such a detailed review. Thank you for choosing the cottage for your holiday.
