Very quiet relaxing 3 days, warm and cosy inside. Ideal walks for the dog, lovely to watch the birds feeding.Only downside is the track leading up to Betty....had to keep to one side of the track to stop car from grounding out....definitely will be returning next year.

Cumberland Betty is beautiful - clean & sweet but not the best for two 50-somethings with bad backs & 2 dogs! We love the Lakes and it is handy for Coniston & Grizedale but we couldn't find anywhere nearby nice to eat - nor was there any info provided about local amenities or walks. This would be a great romantic escape for a young couple but we felt over priced for the location. A shame, but we have tried it!

Cumberland Betty Location is secluded but very relaxing. All the facilities you would need squeezed into a small space. The location and the quirkiness of this accommodation are its strong points creating high expectations of a George Clarke Amazing Spaces episode. The reality does not quite reach the anticipation. Whilst all the functionality is there, the gloss is lost by what is actually quite cramped for one person which means there is no need to go searching for discrepancies in the finish values. The quality of the internal finish is poor. Screws are too big splitting the wood, sealant poorly applied making it look amateurish and the DIY may extend to the electrics which could be better installed. The cooking ring is either very hot burning the bottom is the pan or such a low simmer you doubt the appliance is on. The fridge whilst compact is not not variable and needlessly froze some of the contents. In line with the compact nature of Betty the bathroom is the width of the shower tray and whilst the shower itself is fine, though lacking soap, there were only hand towels to dab myself down. In comparison to other apartments in the area this space is not worth the money but if you want quirky remote and a change to the norm how much are you prepared to spend!

Wonderful views. Resident rat at bird table but i must say it didnt venture into the cumberland betty. Tv reception poor. Overall looked clean but got fluff every where on my clothes. No where to hang yr coat just underbed storage (3 tubs). Nowhere to prep food. Sorry but wouldnt go there again. I could have got bed and breakfast cheaper.
