Countryside views

This self contained holiday property, the wing of a cottage, has been furnished with style and flair to ensure a memorable relaxing break. Idyllically situated in an elevated position a short distance from Aboyne, it offers views over the gardens towards the River Dee, where salmon fishing can be arranged. There are extensive grounds with varied birdlife and squirrels which regularly visit. Within walking distance of a pub and restaurant, the house is not far from the village of Aboyne, which has shops and eateries, and in the summer has its own Highland Games – a feature throughout Deeside. Balmoral Castle is well worth a visit and in winter skiing at the Lecht or Glenshee are both easily accessed. Fishing, golf, hill walking, horse riding and even gliding at a nearby club.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location within easy walking distance of Aboyne. Red squirrels and pheasants in the garden. Perfect location for enjoying the countryside around Royal Deeside. Plenty of historic places to visit in the vicinity.

The best word I can use to describe Croiscrag Cottage is 'Tranquility' My wife and I enjoyed our week's stay at this lovely location and the owners were the perfect hosts. The cottage was clean and comfortable and fully equipped. There was the added bonus of the local wildlife in the garden which included red squirrels, hedgehogs and a selection of birds including pheasants, jays and tits.
