There is a regular bus service so you won’t even need the car. There are beaches at Blue Anchor, Kilve and Dunster. The regional town of Minehead is a short distance away and with a very good range of shops and other local amenities. Take a walk along the promenade overlooking the picturesque harbour and enjoy an ice cream. Minehead is also the start of the South West Coastal Path which provides some challenging yet spectacular walking. The pretty medieval village of Dunster, with its castle (National Trust) is well worth a day out. Other areas of interest close by are Porlock and Porlock Weir and a little further along the coast are Lynton and Lynmouth, the two towns connected by the Victorian cliff railway. Lovely location, short walk from the harbour front of a little village The shared swimming pool was great - small but perfect so long as the families sharing are fair - we never had a problem and always were able to swim when we wanted (either by our selves or with 1 other family) The amenities in the cottage were very nice - clean, new and easy to use Be aware that there is no real outside space - this wasnt a problem as the lounge (which is upstairs) had a julliet balcony and we would walk to the harbour front, but ensure you read the description properly as this would not have suited us as well a few years ago

We had a lovely stay at Cider Barn. The cottage was beautiful and having use of the swimming pool was a great addition with 2 young children. It is so close to the village with its many pubs/amenities. We enjoyed days out in Weston Super Mare and Minehead. Towels and bin bags would have been helpful but I really can't fault anything else.
