An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Sitting in a peaceful location yet close to shops and restaurants, this lovely cottage is well placed for enjoying the New Forest and surrounding area.

In a lovely New Forest setting, this super semi-detached, character cottage dates back to 1907. It stands along a quiet scenic unpaved lane only two minutes’ walk from the delightful village of Burley, which attracts many visitors throughout the year. Craigwen Cottage has a large front paved area with feature footbridge and seating, and a pretty secret garden at the back with an elevated summerhouse, and a further sitting out area for al fresco dining or to enjoy an aperitif in the late afternoon/evening sunshine. Inside, this attractive and homely property has a light and airy open plan kitchen with dining area, and the living room has a wood burner, ideal to cosy up in front of during the colder months.
Burley is a popular village with an ’olde worlde’ feel and there are tea rooms, inns, quaint gift shops and an ice cream parlour. Roaming ponies and cattle can often be found wandering through the village and all around the area. Miles of beautiful walks are available in the forest, along with many cycle paths. For a day out take the ferry from the sailing town of Lymington to the Isle of Wight, or spend a leisurely day at the Beaulieu Motor Museum. Enjoy relaxing days on the beach, 4 miles (beach towels are provided). Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

We loved the cottge and would recommend it, we never stay in the same area twice, hence why we would not come back. We feel the steep stairs should be noted, i am on crutches and so was a little akward. Its a very quirky cottage, yet plenty of room. Lovely kitchen and dining area, location pefect. The owner Andrea lovely. Lots of lovely fluffy towels, very comfortable beds. Kitchen very well equiped. A lovely holiday thank you.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks for the great review Cheryl We have never thought that the stairs are that steep and the details were written up by the booking agent, but I shall certainly mention it to them in case future guests would be better suited in single floor property.

A truly lovely, comfortable cottage - you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. We only stayed for 3 nights, but we slept well and found the cottage to be very clean and well maintained. The location is superb - literally round the corner to the village centre with cycle hire, delicious fudge shop, tea rooms, 2 pubs and PONIES! Just walking around the village! Wonderful! Thoroughly recommend Burley and this cottage for a relaxing holiday in a wonderful part of the world.

Lovely homely cottage in a quiet location on the edge of Burley. I walked or ran on the local common everyday. The wild ponies were beautiful and they visited the town everyday. The post office / general store in Burley is friendly and useful. We used Waitrose in Ringwood for our main shop. We were received a thoughtful welcome gift of fresh bread, milk, eggs and even some cakes on arrival. Favourite days out included Lymington and Portsmouth (excellent shopping!) also Lyndhurst is lovely. The little cottage garden is a sun trap and there was everything you might need for a peaceful and relaxing week in the New Forest.
