Had a great weekend celebrating a group of friends 30ths. Close to zipworld which is what we wanted and short drives to various attractions in wales. A hot tub would complete Craigfa and use of a BBQ.

Great location, big grounds for kids to play, spacious inside, lots of potential, unfortunately no one their to meet us, had to ask neighbour how to get into property, only one toilet for 7 people, toilet didn’t flush properly, no iron, fridge was too small for 9 people, some lightbulbs needed replaced.

The cottage was very modern and comfortable, but the kitchen equipment poor, non stick pans wore out and large saucepan in cupboard burnt also needs an operations manual for kitchen appliances etc, overall good.

An amazing property, fantastically located in a rural setting (although this means it’s away from the shops) and it’s exactly what I expected of the outer building and the setting. Unfortunately a few things do let it down.. I really would prefer not to mention them in all honesty because it’s such a beautiful house in such a beautiful location.. However, I feel it’s important that I write an honest review for future guests and the owner alike. Unfortunately the baby chair supplied was very dirty and I had to spend a good 45 mins scrubbing and cleaning it so we could use it for my 2 year old son. The toaster was not working as the bread would not pop up when toasted - being a potential health hazard due to not being able to take out the toast without almost burning your fingers. There were no hand towels in any of the bathrooms and the bed sheets smelt damp with a strong cooking like smell. There were also no bath mats on the floor which meant that the children were stood on a cold, slippery floor in the bathroom once they had come out of the bath. All of the cutlery had to be cleaned before it could be used as it was put away dirty which was disappointing as we only discovered this as dinner was ready to be served. The upper level floor in the lounge area creeks terribly, waking up the children sleeping downstairs. All bedrooms were very dusty and the rugs in bedrooms were not clean and had lots of bits tangled in them. I had to take them outside to beat them clean.. A potentially serious danger point I found at this property was that the stairs were varnished and very slippery if you were wearing just socks or barefooted, coupled with huge gaps between each step- enough for even a 3 or 4 year old to fall through (on to the hard tiled floor in the hallway downstairs). A stair gate is provided (which i’d have been lost without for the safety of our children) but we couldn’t let the children up and down the stairs by themselves like they would do at home as I found it too risky. Unfortunately there’s one more final point to this rant which I’m not proud of making; The dishwasher door is VERY heavy and not spring loaded. When opened, it opens and falls very hard and heavily - on one occasion missing one of our children by a couple of centimetres.. I am sorry that I’ve had to write such a negative review about the inside of the property because as mentioned earlier, the building and setting are beautiful.. there is even a great play area for the children and plenty of ‘safe’ land on the grounds of the property to have the kids run free and enjoy themselves. The property is also privately gated making it very secure. Baring all of the above in mind, I quite possibly would visit this property again in the hope that all of the downfalls would have been addressed and resolved as this is the perfect location for a quiet break.
