The best thing about this cottage was the utter peace, sitting outside just listening to the birds and the occasional cow. The furnishings are rather dated, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was new with an excellent shower. The land around is steeply sloped - very steep drive which was too much for the car so things had to be carried up and I found the slope difficult going down with my dodgy ankle. The gateway is also quite narrow - watch out for your wing mirrors. On the whole though we had a lovely holiday, the local area was lovely and the nearby towns of Biggar and Peebles are well worth a visit.

Amazing place. Everything about the booking was easy and Jamie the caretaker was brilliant, balancing great communication with leaving us be.

In the middle of nowhere was just what we and our dogs wanted. Plenty of walking especially the old railway track. The cottage is dated but gives a wonderful atmosphere especially with the open fire roaring. Had everything we needed and the heating was superb. We would love to go again.

Love the area Although the cottage itself needs a good clean and new bits n bobs ..ie sink drainer soap holders etc .. and a welcome pack would of been nice
