Set in quaint fishing village

Mevagissey is a traditional Cornish fishing village where cottages cluster tightly in narrow streets that surround and lead to a busy working harbour. Craftsmen Cottage nestles just seconds away from the quayside with its restaurants, shops, cafés and traditional village pubs. The quirkiness of the irregular shaped rooms and old beams only add to the charm of this quaint holiday cottage. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, a beautifully restored garden is just minutes from the village and provides an excellent opportunity to stroll around a fully restored garden complete with hidden ’jungle’. Beaches, walks, horse riding, sailing, kayaking and surfing are all available locally. Shops 20 yards, pub 100 yards, restaurant 10 yards.

We stayed in the Craftsmen Cottage from 11th - 18th May. We were met in the near-by car park by Sue Franklin, the owner, a genuinely friendly and welcoming lady. Sue gave us perfect directions to Mevagissey and the car park over the phone and even helped us carry our some of our baggage to the cottage as well! The Cottage is only a few hundred metres from the car park and, as the roads around Mevagissey are narrow, it was easier to walk our baggage round than try to drive and park outside the cottage - although this is possible if necessary. The cottage was a delight - more than we expected. It was short of nothing for a self-catering holiday, super clean, cosy with great comfortable beds and right in the heart of the village. What's not to like!

The cottage was lovely and the owner was so nice and helpful...a lovely cream tea was waiting for us and she gave us a good explanation of how everything worked .the nearby car park was paid for so there was no worry on that score ...all in all a lovely place to stay ...we would definitely recommend it

Excellent cottage full of charm, well equipped with everything we needed. Greated by a cream tea, milk, tea, coffee and plenty of bathrooms accessories. Fluffy towels and warm rooms, what more could we ask for.
