This beautiful Grade II listed, semi-detached property sits in the heart of the tiny village of Horsehouse, in a picturesque corner of Coverdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Dating from the beginning of the 19th century, this cottage is thought to have been a coach house and subsequently a dwelling house and shop.

Sitting in an elevated position, it commands fabulous views from its large windows and extensive gardens. Providing spacious accommodation, this beautiful cottage has two living rooms with flagstone floors, kept warm by underfloor heating and two wood burners. Both living rooms provide a great social space for a mixture of ages and interests. Step through into an open plan kitchen/ dining area, with hand crafted fitted units, complete with modern appliances. The dining area is the perfect place to gather, and looks out onto the gardens and views beyond. Upstairs there are four large bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The rolling gardens provide a wonderfully relaxing outdoor space, with a combination of lawns and terraces. There is a small stream running through the bottom of the garden, and a large decking area with furniture and BBQ. From here you can enjoy wonderful views of Coverdale and Horsehouse’s historic church.

Covercote at Horsehouse provides the perfect rural retreat for those looking for peace and tranquillity, amidst some of the most stunning scenery in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a multitude of walking routes available straight from your door. At the end of the day visit the local village pub, or for a wider selection of fare, try the community run pub in Carlton.

The hamlet of Horsehouse is located on the road from Middleham in Wensleydale to Kettlewell in Wharfedale. Middleham has lots to offer and is most famous for its castle, which was once home to Richard III, and is also home to several racehorse trainers, providing a wonderful sight each day as the horses and riders make their way through the village up onto the gallops. Shop 8 miles, pub 50 yards and restaurant 6 miles.
