Stroll amidst the gardens and grounds of Feniton Court Estate, browse around the market town of Honiton or visit one of the many family attractions nearby.

Court Barn was built around 1800 and has been converted into a beautiful detached holiday home, perfect for holidays at any time of year. The property has been completely renovated and has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. All on one level, it has many interesting features including beams. There is a private garden area with tables and chairs and private parking, and it is situated next to the beef farm on the estate of Feniton Court, on the edge of Feniton village about 4 miles west of Honiton (which was once the home of Major General Sir John Acland). The owner’s farm extends to 250 acres with beautiful gardens where many walks can be taken. Pedigree longhorn cattle, a traditional native breed, are kept on the 250-acre home farm, and were chosen not only for their presence in the parkland setting, but also for their quiet temperament. Alongside the longhorns is a small flock of sheep.
The property is an ideal base from which to explore all that Devon has to offer, including Honiton, a small market town well known for its lace, and Ottery St Mary, a little town with many independent shops, restaurants and cafés. Ottery is a wonderful location for walkers, having almost one hundred footpaths. Some are level and run along the banks of the River Otter, whilst some have paths rising to nearly 900ft. Further afield is the Jurassic Coast which offers breathtaking scenery, fabulous beaches and charming seaside towns. Nearby Escot Country Park is a wonderful wildlife visitor attraction for the whole family. You can visit many other resorts within the area such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Sidmouth, which are all found along this stretch of coastline. Exeter, with its amazing cathedral is not to be missed, and Dartmoor, with its ponies and tors, also has many cafés where you can enjoy a Devon cream tea. For family fun, visit Crealy adventure park, Go Ape at Haldon Forest, or cycle the main trails that Haldon has to offer. Exeter Racecourse is not too far for a day out at the races. Horse riding, birdwatching, walking, hiking are other activities to enjoy. There are many National Trust properties close by which are all worth a visit. With so many things to do in Devon, one visit is never enough! Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Please note: This property has a natural water supply from a spring, and there is an unfenced stream and pond in the grounds, 220 yards away.

    We stayed at Court Barn over Christmas and loved it. The owners gave us a very warm welcome on arrival, the mincemeat shortbreads were yummy! The photos do not fully prepare you for how lovely the cottage is, with its high ceilings and wonderful fixtures and fittings. A TV in every room, spacious rooms, wonderful bathrooms and comfy beds. The two main bedrooms are at opposite ends of the barn so privacy is there if you need it. Plenty of parking space as well. Court Barn is in a lovely part of the world, with great scenery all around. It was very relaxing and so quiet compared to the big city. It was easy to find following the directions given, though the satnav put us right outside the gate! We would love to stay again, though this time in the summer months so we could enjoy more of the surroundings and activities on offer.

    Beautiful barn conversion with fabulous attention to detail in the decor and fittings. Every piece of equipment you could possibly need on holiday. Very spacious and newly converted. The outdoor photos do not do the size of the property and outdoor space justice. When you pull up you’ll know you’ve made the right choice! Set in a lovely estate and village which although feels countryfide and remote you are not very far from A roads and supermarkets at all. Some reviews mentioned the single track road but it is short if approached from Feniton with plenty of passing places so is not an issue. The owners were fantastic, there to help if you needed them but not if you wanted to be left alone. Loved seeing their Longhorn cattle. Loads of National Trust properties to visit in the area and plenty of towns/ villages to venture to inland or on the river/ coast. Great base for exploring. We have rented many cottages over the years and this is one of the best. Book it! :-)

    A new conversion which has been done extremely well. Everything you need is there. A warm welcome from Fiona including flowers, wine, milk and a huge bowl of mixed fruit. There was only two of us but it is ideal for a family with secure garden to prevent children wandering onto the lane. Underfloor heating with a plethora of sensors to give an all round steady temperature. A decent Smart TV with good reception and a fast Wi-fi means evenings are covered after a day, in our case, going around multiple National Trust properties. Plenty of family places as well.     Court Barn is a very comfortable barn conversion. Very spacious and has everything provided for a self-catering holiday. The slight downside is that it is down a bendy single-track lane, although the level of traffic was very low while we were there and we had no problems.

    My family and I had a wonderful stay at Barn Cottage. Newly completed to a very high standard, with 2 gorgeous double bedrooms and small room with bunk beds. Everything was very comfortable, and well equipped. Kitchen and Bathrooms had everything you could possibly need. Would recommend and hope to go back some time soon.
