Cosy Cottage lies in a peaceful village, with an abundance of scenic walk and cycle routes from the doorstep.

Dating back to the mid-1700s, this mid terraced cottage has been thoughtfully restored to provide all the comforts one needs from a holiday home, including a woodburner. Located in the village of Salterforth, Cosy Cottage is the perfect retreat for couples wanting to explore the neighbouring counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Close to the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Forest of Bowland (AONB), the area is ideal for those who love the outdoors, with lots of walking and cycling opportunities, set in stunning scenery. The village of Salterforth is located in the Pendle area of Lancashire, although it was formerly part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The Leeds Liverpool Canal runs through the village and there are some lovely walks and cycle paths along the canal into Barnoldswick and Foulridge. You could also take a trip on a narrow boat from one of the moorings. The local pub, which is situated on the banks of the canal, is very historic. Dating back to the 1600’s, the original pub was actually underground and you can still see this today. The lively market town of Barnoldswick is just over a mile from the cottage and here you will find a good selection of shops, pubs and cafés. Due to its location on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border, there are lots of wonderful places to visit within easy driving distance. The highlights include the market town of Skipton (10 miles) with its castle, Haworth and Bronte Country (14 miles), Settle (16 miles) and Harrogate (30 miles). Manchester and Leeds are both around an hour’s drive. For those who prefer a coastal landscape, the Fylde coast, whose popular resorts include Blackpool and Lytham St Anne’s, can also be reached in around an hour. Shop and restaurant 1½ miles, pub 500 yards.

Location was very good but spoilt by poorly equipped cottage. Everything supplied felt like the cheapest you could get. Cottage was not very clean when we arrived. We found some 'Pills' on the floor in the bedroom -no idea what they were! Kitchen blind fell out of ceiling when we tried to close it!!!! Kitchen equipment was limited and not clean. Saucepans had burnt food all over the inside of pans, as did the frying pan, the plates/bowls mostly chipped -need to be replaced. We were not prepared to use them - unhygienic to say the least. Opened wardrobe in bedroom and the wardrobe almost on top of me !! Best local food at 'The Old Stone Trough' Good quality, good price, very friendly, and also dog friendly.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am so sorry that we didn’t meet your expectation whilst staying at Cozy Cottage and I am pleased to say we rarely get feedback like yours. We have looked into your feedback and double checked and replaced any chipped crockery (9/11). We will look at the cleaning rota and discuss your feedback with our cleaning team, we have purchased new covers for the chairs however we don’t agree that the finish to our cottage is cheap it has an Ikea kitchen & crockery, Bosch Oven, Sony TV, Sky package including sport & movies a new bathroom with a great shower, wood flooring and wood burner. Thanks for the feedback it is important that we know when we have not achieved satisfaction from our guests, we always encourage people to call us when they arrive and give us the opportunity to correct a fault.

Had a lovely weekend in the Cosy Cottage. Short journey times to Skipton, Bolton Abbey and nice rural pubs. Good surrounding walks for us and the dog - canal walk is very nice. House was warm and had everything we needed for an entertaining weekend. Thank you.

My husband and I spent 5 days here visiting family. It’s literally got everything you need and is in driving distance of local coop for supplies. No parking problems at all. Very clean and cosy! Beautifully decorated to a high standard. Comfy bed and amazingly powerful shower. Surrounded by beautiful country side and The Anchor Inn is a two minute walk. We will most definitely be visiting again.
