This charming detached country house is peacefully located along a quiet residential road overlooking the seafront, and stands within its own lawned gardens and private parking. It has a glass screen balcony leading from the master bedroom, an ideal spot to maximise the superb panoramic nautical views. This welcoming holiday retreat has been lovingly and comfortably furnished.

This area is fantastic for scenic walking and footpaths can also be followed to join the coastal path leading to breathtaking routes across miles of Heritage coastline. Totland Bay is a popular seaside resort and there are various other secluded sandy bays around the island. West Wight has various outdoor pursuits including sailing, fishing, golf, cycling, swimming and watersports – all of which can be found locally. Nearby is Freshwater with its amazing rock formations, The Needles, with its theme park, chair rides and golf. Yarmouth with its pier, waterside café/dining and historic pubs, is about a 10-minute drive. Blackgang Chine, the UK’s first theme park which dates back to 1843, is also within easy reach, and makes a fun day out for the children.

There is so much to see and do on this ever popular island, including many National Trust homes and gardens, such as Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Carisbrooke Castle, Osbourne House, also the Isle of Wight Pearl, Calbourne Water Mill which has 17th century water and stone mills, garlic and lavender farms, picturesque villages serving cream teas, vineyards, museums, wildlife centres and adventure parks. Beach 200 yards. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

    corner cottage was the perfect size for us all with a fantastic big garden which our children absolutely loved. The area was lovely and quiet and there is so much to do with the children. The waterfront restaurant was wonderful and in a short walking distance. The only thing which put a big downer on the cottage was it's cleanliness we had to do quite a bit ourselves and there were quite a few items which did not work properly which we wrote in the maintenance book.

    Response on behalf of the owner; We were surprised to receive this review, especially as the average score for cleanliness over the other twelve reviews has been around 8.5. On receiving the review we immediately spoke to our cleaning company who confirmed that the normal team of cleaners worked on the house and the house was inspected as usual prior to the guests’ arrival. We would note in passing that early arrivals disrupting the cleaning of the house are not helpful. We would also note that the latest review received has given a 10/10 score for cleanliness. The three maintenance items have been rectified. We would encourage guests to report any maintenance issues as they arise so that they can be dealt with promptly.

    A great first visit to Isle of Wight. Excellent house, good location and lovely weather. Everyone (6 adults and 3 youngsters) went home happy.

    The position of the house and garden is excellent. We knew the house was large but it was a lot bigger than we thought on arrival. Shops are near but a little bit to far if carrying shopping back for 8 people or for older guests walking. The Waterfront restaurant was lovely both times we used it. Overall house, kitchen, bathrooms, bedding and towels were clean but a little dusty in some areas. The day after we arrived the shower blocked, we contacted the owner and he sent someone straight away to look at the issue (on a Sunday evening) Value for money about average for the 6 week school holidays. My only suggestion is, this large garden is crying out for a large hot hub!

    Great location , lovely garden , I would suggest the living accommodation in the house is more suited to 8 guests rather than 10 , which we were . Some upgrading of of the sheets and towels would be good for the price of the accommodation . But , we had a great week and would recommend it.
