Just a mile or so from the beach and picturesque harbour at Lyme Regis, this attractive cluster of individually owned holiday cottages enjoys a peaceful setting in an area of exceptional natural beauty. Skilfully converted from a range of lovely old stone barns, they are surrounded by acres of pastures with abundant wildlife, including deer and badgers. Fitted and furnished to comfortable standards throughout, each holiday cottage is independently owned and has its own sunny patio at the front with peaceful and uninterrupted views over a picturesque pond and the countryside beyond. A lovely riverside walk leads to historic Lyme Regis, passing through wonderful countryside with no roads to mar the views. The rolling farmland scenery is easily enjoyed via the 28-mile network of local footpaths and bridleways, including the World Heritage Dorset Coastal Path (½ mile) and its spectacular Jurassic coast.
Accessible within 4 minutes by car or via a 25-minute downhill walk over fields and along the riverbank, Lyme Regis is one of England’s most memorable small towns. It is famous as the setting for both the story and film of ’The French Lieutenant’s Woman’, with its harbour, bright with boats, streets of elegant colour-washed buildings, lofty cliffs and a great sweep of sea. Inns, restaurants and a choice of shops can be found amongst the town’s attractive jumble of narrow streets, and it is a notable water sports centre. Motorboats can be hired, and there are fishing trips, a sailing school and club, and a wind-surfing school.
For nature lovers, the area has some of the most diverse scenery in the country: Lyme Bay sweeps round from the National Nature Reserve on the Dowlands Cliffs in an uninterrupted arc along the huge bank of shingle that is Chesil Beach, all the way to the limestone slab of the Isle of Portland. The 626ft Golden Cap, a breath-taking viewpoint and part of a lovely 2,000-acre National Trust estate, is the highest point on England’s south coast, a World Heritage Site. It is an easy drive to Bridport, Honiton, Sidmouth, Exeter and Dorchester. For families, there are many lovely beaches close at hand, and Crealy Theme Park near Exeter. Lyme Regis golf course is within ½ mile and visitors are welcome to use the golf course, or to visit the bar and restaurant. Each cottage has a comprehensive information folder giving details of local pubs, restaurants, shops, walks, excursions and many interesting facts about Lyme Regis and finding fossils along the Jurassic coast. Shops 1 mile.
Colombo Cottage (Ref DAAZ), Morse Cottage (Ref DJM), Clouseau Cottage (Ref DJP), Bergerac Cottage (Ref DJQ) and Poirot Cottage (Ref DRY) can be booked together to accommodation up to 20 guests.

We had an lovely stay at Colombo cottage. It is very cosy and had everything we required. It has beautiful surroundings and it is very peaceful. With two young children we decided against trying the walk into Lyme Regis as we understand it is a bit of a trek especially for little legs but thankfully we didn’t struggle to park in town even on busy days. We would definitely visit again in the future and recommend to friends looking for a quiet little getaway.

We enjoyed our visit to Colombo Cottage very much, the location is beautiful and extremely quite. The birdlife was wonderful to see around the cottage and our 5 year old granddaughter was in her element running around on the grassed field outside the cottage. I was extremely grateful to the owners who got bought 2 electric fans to cool the cottage during the very hot week we spent in Lyme Regis. It enabled all 4 of us to be able to sleep comfortably. Lyme Regis is a beautiful resort one we love and having a park and ride system opposite the lane we turned into to get to the cottage, made it so easy to get into bustling Lyme. I would recommend this cottage and the other cottages in the row all looked nice and comfortable also. My grateful thanks to the owners for helping our holiday to be enjoyable.

Lovely location, we enjoyed our stay very much, quiet with lots of nature all around you, but not far from lyme Regis, you need a car to get out and about due to its location being rural, overall its a little gem, home from home, was sad to go home would definitely return 
